Tron's Meme Coin Generator Surges Past Pump Fun, Mint Count Exceeds 29K

Since debuting in mid-August, Sun Pump, Tron's meme coin generator, has seen a flurry of activity. Data from Dune Analytics shows that nearly 30,000 Sun Pump-issued tokens have been minted to date, with 7,531 tokens being created just this past Wednesday.

2024 has seen a rise in the popularity of meme coins, with Pump Fun's debut on Solana in January making it easy for users to create and launch their own meme coins without any technical expertise. Pump Fun uses a bonding curve pricing model to dynamically adjust token prices based on supply and demand. The platform has caught the attention of the crypto community, with Dune Analytics reporting that 1,854,871 tokens have been generated to date.

Pump Fun has also generated $92.83 million in fees and initially supported Solana, Base, and Blast. A Tron version of Pump Fun, called Sun Pump, has also garnered significant interest, with 29,328 tokens being minted on the Tron meme coin generator since August 9. On Wednesday, Sun Pump outpaced Pump Fun, minting 7,531 tokens compared to Pump Fun's 6,701.

Sun Pump also pulled in more revenue, amassing $585K, compared to Pump Fun's $366K on August 21. Of the tokens created on Sun Pump, 589 are currently being traded on Sunswap. Since its launch, this Tron-powered meme coin generator has accumulated $1.789 million in total revenue. Wednesday was the platform's highest revenue day, and by 4:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday, an additional 4,274 tokens had been minted, generating $247K in revenue.
