USDT issuer partners with Taipei Tech to empower the next generation of blockchain professionals.

Stablecoin issuer Tether has announced a new initiative to enhance blockchain and cryptocurrency education in Taiwan. As part of this effort, Tether will be partnering with the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), also known as Taipei Tech, to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills they need to succeed in the rapidly growing crypto industry.
According to an official announcement by Tether on March 7, the main goal of this initiative is to promote “a well-rounded understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, Bitcoin and stablecoins.” The course materials that will be developed for NTUT will also include support from industry experts that Tether will be assembling.
When it comes to the crypto industry course, it will be focusing on the following aspects, among other things:
– An overview of blockchain technology, Bitcoin, and stablecoins
– Digital asset markets and trading strategies
– Cryptocurrency regulations and legal frameworks
– Practical applications of blockchain in various industries
– Emerging trends and innovations in the crypto space
Paolo Ardoino, who serves as the CEO of Tether, expressed the company’s commitment to empowering the next generation of blockchain professionals in the region.
“Tether’s education initiative aligns seamlessly with the visions of these universities to empower their students with the knowledge and technical skills to boost the adoption of digital assets in Taiwan,” said Ardoino.
This is not the first time that the stablecoin issuer has made a push towards blockchain education. Previously, the firm has collaborated with local organizations to provide education for students and professors to attend blockchain-related classes.
USDT Issuer Continues to Support Crypto Industry Growth
Tether has been continuously expanding its presence within the industry, which was recently highlighted by the launch of Alloy, a tethered asset that is backed by XAUT (Tether Gold). This new token is designed to provide stability in the digital economy by combining the strengths of a stable unit of account with the security and reliability of gold.
A few days prior, Ardoino also pointed out that more than 300 million users rely on Tether’s USDT stablecoin, in response to an article that suggested dollar-backed stablecoins contribute to the demand for U.S. public debt.
“USDT is being used by more than 300 million people across the world as the digital dollar, providing a lifeline utility to entire communities in developing countries. These people are underserved by the banking industry, mostly remaining unbanked and subject to high inflation and fast devaluation of their national currencies,” noted Ardoino.
The firm has also been making an effort to improve cross-border payments, especially in emerging markets, with an $18.75 million investment in XREX Group for this purpose. Among the stablecoins in the market, Tether’s USDT holds the top position in terms of market capitalization, which currently stands at $112.5 billion (nearly 70%) out of a total $162.9 billion.
