Sonic the Hedgehog zooms into Magic: The Gathering with a new Secret Lair drop, blending speed and strategy. Get ready for a wild ride!

Gotta go fast, planeswalkers! The worlds of Sonic the Hedgehog and Magic: The Gathering are colliding in a burst of rings and mana. It's a crossover as unexpected as it is awesome, bringing the blue blur and his friends (and foes) to your tabletop.
Sonic and MTG: A Crossover for the Ages
Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast are dropping a Secret Lair x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration, and it's hitting shelves July 14th. Three unique Secret Lair drops—Friends & Foes, Chasing Adventure, and Turbo Gear—are set to bring some serious speed to your decks.
Friends & Foes: Meet the Crew
This drop is all about the characters we know and love. Imagine dropping a Sonic the Hedgehog card onto the battlefield! We're also getting cards for Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Shadow the Hedgehog, Dr. Eggman, and even a Super State (Golden Sonic) enchantment.
Chasing Adventure: Chaos Emerald Power-Ups
Need some extra juice for your spells? Chasing Adventure reskins some iconic MTG staples with a Sonic twist. Think Sol Ring with a Chaos Emerald design, plus Sonic-themed versions of Generous Gift, Deadly Dispute, Fabricate, Open the Armory, and Unexpected Windfall. And, of course, a treasure token. It’s never a bad thing to add some nostalgia to the game.
Turbo Gear: Equip for Speed
This drop turns legendary artifacts into iconic Sonic items. Get ready to equip your creatures with Knuckles Gloves (The Reaver Cleaver), Power Sneakers (Lightning Greaves), a Piko Piko Hammer (Hammer of Nazhan), an Egg Hammer (Myr Battlesphere), and Air Shoes (Swiftfoot Boots). There's even an Egg Pawn token (Myr Token) and, the best part, the Tornado, Sonic’s Biplane (Weatherlight)!
Why This Crossover Works
Besides the obvious nostalgia factor, this crossover actually makes sense. Both Sonic and Magic are about strategy and speed. In Magic, you're building a deck and planning your moves to outwit your opponent. Solana's blockchain launch back in March 2020 similarly aimed for speed and efficiency, pushing the boundaries of what decentralized networks could achieve. While not directly related to Sonic, Solana's focus on speed mirrors the core appeal of the blue hedgehog. Both worlds reward quick thinking and decisive action.
How to Get Your Hands on These Speedy Cards
Each drop will be available in non-foil ($29.99) and foil ($39.99) editions exclusively at MagicSecretLair.com starting July 14th at 9 a.m. PT. These will go fast, so you need to be ready.
So, mark your calendars, set your alarms, and prepare to inject some serious Sonic speed into your Magic: The Gathering game. It's gonna be a wild ride!
