Solana Mobile has reached a milestone by entering the shipping stages of its second hardware development, the Seeker phone. The company announced that it will begin distribution to buyers on August 4.

Solana Mobile is getting ready to launch its new mobile phone, the Seeker, and a platform called TEEPIN. The company says the phone will ship on August 4 and will be powered by a new ecosystem token called SKR.
Solana Mobile says its goal is to disrupt the current mobile phone ecosystem, which it claims is controlled by a few big companies. The company wants to create a more open and decentralized ecosystem with its new phone and platform.
"Current mobile ecosystems weren’t built for the web3 economy. Users have a clunky experience and limited access to real innovation. Devs are stuck playing by arbitrary rules and pay exorbitant fees," said Emmett Hollyer, General Manager of Solana Mobile.
Solana Mobile's new phone, the Seeker, will be powered by the Solana blockchain and will feature a built-in crypto wallet and a decentralized app store. The company says the phone will be able to process payments in USDC with no processing fees and will allow devs to deploy dapps on the phone at a low cost.
Solana Mobile says it has already processed over $20 million in payments using USDC with no processing fees and has seen strong demand for its new phone. The company is planning to make the phone available in several markets later this year.
