Sleep Token Continues Its Ascent, Scoring Its First #1 Album in the UK

If you've been on social media this week, you're likely aware that Sleep Token's continued ascent to the throne of alternative metal royalty has certainly rubbed many the wrong way.

Sleep Token are quickly becoming one of the biggest bands in the world. The masked metal act have today (July 20) scored their first #1 album in the UK with their fourth studio album, ‘Antigonia’.

They are also on course for a huge debut on the Billboard 200 this coming week. It's now being predicted by Hits Daily Double that the band will land their first US #1 with an opening week total of 125k album-equivalent units.

The band’s commercial success will likely come as a surprise to some. Despite Sleep Token’s meteoric rise having been well-documented throughout 2023 and 2024, it still seems like the group have yet to win over the hearts and minds of some metalheads and noted tastemakers.

But, as those who tuned in for BandLab’s recent interview series with Sleep Token’s members will attest, the group’s fans are clearly a devoted bunch who come out in full force for the band.

Having already graduated to arenas in the UK and Europe, the first indication that 2025 would be a huge year for Sleep Token came with their selection as a 2025 ‘Download Festival’ headliner, alongside tenured veterans in Green Day and Korn.

Then, in March, Sleep Token announced their first arena headlining run in the US, which is sure to be met with great enthusiasm by fans.
