Robinhood Wallet Adds Support for Solana (SOL)

The Robinhood Wallet, a self-custody wallet app available on iOS and Android, has added support for Solana (SOL).

Robinhood’s self-custody wallet has now added support for Solana (SOL) and its ecosystem tokens, such as Serum (SRM), SPL and others.

Robinhood announced the integration on August 27, a move that comes as Solana attempts to regain momentum after a turbulent 2023.

The development marks a significant addition to the Robinhood Wallet, which now supports the fifth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Solana also boasts an ecosystem with over $9.8 billion in total value locked (TVL) and more than 1.99 million active addresses (24-hour count).

Robinhood’s crypto general manager, Johann Kerbrat, highlighted the wallet’s support for SOL and SLP tokens in a statement:

“Super excited to announce that the Solana network is now live on Robinhood Wallet! Starting today, you can self-custody Solana tokens and send + receive over the Solana blockchain.”

Solana wallets

The addition of Solana to the Robinhood Wallet provides a new gateway to web3 for the cryptocurrency’s fifth-largest asset by market cap. It also marks a boost for an ecosystem that has seen strong growth in 2023.

Robinhood’s self-custody wallet enables users to hold their private keys and have complete control over their assets. The wallet supports various top cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Arbitrum and Polygon. Additionally, the wallet offers support for Optimism and Base tokens.

Several wallets, both browser-based and mobile app-based, support SOL and its ecosystem tokens.

Key integrations or features for these wallets include dApp connectivity, native staking and native swaps. Popular wallets are Phantom, Solflare and Torus, while hardware wallets such as Ledger and SafePal also support SOL.
