During a meeting with members of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara expressed his concerns. He emphasized that leadership and respect cannot be imposed through coercion.

"Leadership and respect are not acquired through force," the Governor stated. "It is the character and demeanor of a leader that evoke admiration and reverence among the populace."

Governor Fubara emphasized that governance should prioritize the well-being of the people and leave lasting legacies. He cautioned that power, regardless of its duration, will inevitably dissipate.

The federal legislators, who were in the state on an official mission, deemed it appropriate to visit the Governor and offer words of encouragement before departing. Governor Fubara informed them that, in his assessment, there was no political crisis within the state.

"I will not yield to any pressures, especially the calculated attempts to cripple my government," Governor Fubara declared.

He elaborated that leadership entails making a positive impact on the lives of the citizens. "The affection and esteem of the people cannot be coerced or intimidated," he added.

Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the people and leaving a legacy of progress in the state. He urged the National Assembly to champion justice and speak out against wrongdoing.

"We must collectively strive to safeguard the principles of democracy and ensure that the voices of the voiceless are heard," the Governor said.
