Rishabh Pant Sends Coin Flying, Leaves Axar Patel Confused Over Toss Decision
Apr 22, 2025 at 10:09 pm
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant was at his hilarious best during the toss ahead of the commencement of the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The captains of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) clashed during the toss for the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, April 22.
At the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Rishabh Pant, the captain of the Super Giants, threatened to send the coin very high in the air if he won the toss.
As this was happening, Pant was seen gesturing and telling Axar Patel that he would throw the coin very high in the air. Pant did exactly that, as he jumped and threw the coin as high as he could.
The coin went very high in the air and as it came down, Axar called for 'tails' and he turned lucky as the coin fell in his favor, and Pant's additional effort went in vain.
After winning the toss, Axar was heard saying 'bowling, bowling' while Pant, in an attempt to confuse the DC skipper, cheekily said, 'batting, batting' to leave everyone in splits.

Speaking to Deep Dasgupta, Axar Patel said that they want to restrict LSG to a low score in the match. He said:
"We'll bowl. Red soil wicket and there was dew in the last game as well. If we bowl well, we can restrict them."
Axar Patel added that they are not thinking too much about losses and their focus is on doing the right things consistently. He also talked about how DC pick impact players in matches. He elaborated:
"We focused on what we did right and areas where we can improve. We aren't thinking too much. We've been part of a couple of close matches.
"Impact Player - we decide based on the match situation. Unfortunately a couple of our players are injured and they won't be able to field. One change for us. Mohit Sharma is out, Dushmantha Chameera is playing."
