Two Washington women are wanted in Portland for allegedly using sleight of hand to steal a $3,400 gold coin. Police suspect they may be involved in other similar crimes.

Police on the Hunt for Coin Store Theft Suspects: A Portland Caper
Ever heard of a real-life heist involving a coin store? Buckle up, because Portland's got a story for you. Two women from Washington are wanted for allegedly pulling off a slick theft, and the police are on their trail.
The Coin Caper
On June 4th, at a coin and precious metals shop on Southeast 52nd Avenue, two women allegedly swiped a gold coin worth a whopping $3,400. The method? According to the shop owner, it was a classic case of “sleight of hand.” Portland Police quickly discovered a similar theft in Lynnwood, Washington, and the suspects matched the description.
Meet the Suspects
The Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted Flavia Avram, 30, of Kent, Washington, and Ariana I. Muntean, 29, of Lynnwood, Washington, on first-degree theft charges. As of August 7th, they were still at large, prompting Portland Police to release their images to the public.
Avram is described as about 5'9", weighing between 170 and 190 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair (which might be bleached). Muntean is around 5'5", weighing between 180 and 200 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
A Possible Crime Spree?
Portland Police suspect that Avram and Muntean might be involved in other crimes around Portland and even in other states. If you have any information, Detective Michael Stevens wants to hear from you (Michael.Stevens@police.portlandoregon.gov, case number 25-150107).
My Two Cents
It's wild to think about the level of skill and audacity it takes to pull off a theft like this. While the police do their job, it is important to remember, “See something, say something”.
The Takeaway
So, keep an eye out, Portland! And maybe double-check your coin collections. You never know who might be trying to pull a fast one. Stay safe, stay informed, and remember, not all that glitters is gold… sometimes, it's just stolen!
