Metaplanet Inc. Purchased additional 555 Bitcoins after raising $25 million by issuing zero-coupon bonds to EVO FUND

Shares of Metaplanet Inc (TYO:3350) jumped 13.32% on Friday, responding to the company's bold Bitcoin acquisition strategy. By 12:45 PM JST, the stock closed at ¥485, opening at ¥483 and briefly touching a high of ¥502.
The company purchased additional 555 Bitcoins after raising $25 million by issuing zero-coupon bonds on Friday. These bonds, sold to EVO FUND, carry no interest and were fully used to buy more Bitcoin.

This latest acquisition brings Metaplanet's total Bitcoin holdings to 5,555, acquired for approximately $481.5 million at an average cost basis of $86,672 per Bitcoin. The zero-coupon bonds are set to mature on November 6, 2025, with provisions for early redemption based on specific conditions.
By issuing bonds without interest, Metaplanet effectively minimizes capital costs while maximizing its exposure to Bitcoin in this uncharted market.
