As part of a long-term strategy to support the growth and expansion of the Fantom ecosystem, the Foundation is proposing to allocate a portion of the Sonic tokens to fund promising initiatives and dApps (decentralized applications) on Fantom. This move aims to foster innovation, attract new users, and enhance the overall user experience within the network.

In addition to the ecosystem grants, the proposal outlines a novel token destruction mechanism designed to maintain the value of Sonic tokens over time. According to the proposal, the Foundation plans to utilize a "controlled inflation" strategy to mint new Sonic tokens at a rate of 1.5% per year.

Based on the current total supply of 3,175,000,000 FTM, this minting rate would generate approximately 47,625,000 tokens annually. However, the proposal states that Sonic Labs, which is responsible for dApps, business development, and network expansion, will likely use only 5,000,000 tokens per year.

In this scenario, the remaining 42,625,000 tokens will be burned, effectively reducing the total circulating supply of Sonic tokens. This novel approach to token burning aims to ensure sustained investor confidence and contribute to the overall stability of the Fantom network.

This strategy aligns with Fantom's broader goal of becoming a leading platform for decentralized applications and innovative blockchain solutions, ultimately aiming to solidify its position within the Top 10 blockchain networks.
