Ethereum Soars on Positive Indicator: ETH Aims for $3,500 Recovery

Apr 29, 2024 at 11:31 pm

Ethereum (ETH) surged 17% in the past 10 days, reaching $3,350 on April 28. On-chain indicators reveal that Ethereum holders' increased staking activity in the yield staking contracts, with a $620 million surge in Ethereum 2.0 staking, contributed to reducing the selling pressure and driving the price uptrend.

Ethereum Soars on Positive Indicator: ETH Aims for $3,500 Recovery

Ethereum Surges on Bullish Indicator: ETH Price Eyes $3,500 Recovery

In a remarkable turn of events, Ethereum (ETH) has defied the prevailing market sentiment to surge 17% in the past ten days. This notable uptick, driven by a surge in staking activities, has propelled ETH's price to an impressive $3,350 on April 28th.

On-Chain Data Reveals Key Catalyst: Staking Drives ETH Rally

As Ethereum's price plummeted to a 2023 low of $2,868 on April 19th, fears of a post-Bitcoin Halving crash loomed over the market. However, instead of succumbing to a sell-off, ETH whale holders and Liquidity Staking Derivatives (LSD) users embraced yield staking contracts to generate passive income amidst the market downturn.

An earlier report by The Crypto Basic hinted at a significant $620 million surge in Ethereum 2.0 staking, which has played a pivotal role in mitigating the selling pressure in ETH markets over the past week.

Ethereum Outperforms Bitcoin: 17% Gain vs. 5% Drop

Ethereum's price performance has far exceeded that of Bitcoin (BTC) in the last ten days. ETH has rallied an impressive 17% between April 19th and 29th, while BTC has declined 5% during the same period.

Furthermore, on-chain data indicates that Ethereum's winning streak over BTC is likely to continue in the week ahead. The IntoTheBlock Exchange Netflow metric tracks the daily difference between cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals across recognized crypto exchanges.

Negative Exchange Netflow signifies that investors are withdrawing coins into long-term storage or staking contracts, effectively reducing the available spot market supply. Over the past three trading days, Ethereum has recorded negative flows, with investors shifting a total of 5,410 ETH from exchanges to long-term storage and staking contracts.

$17 Million Market Supply Cut: ETH Holders Accumulate

At the time of publication on April 29th, ETH was trading around $3,180, implying that Ethereum holders have reduced the circulating market supply by approximately $17 million. This supply reduction further reinforces the bullish sentiment surrounding ETH.

ETH Price Forecast: $3,250 Resistance and $3,500 Target

Based on the $17 million decline in ETH market supply, Ethereum is poised to outperform Bitcoin for a second consecutive week. Bulls are eyeing the $3,500 milestone, although a decisive breakout above $3,266 is necessary to validate this bullish forecast.

2.07 million addresses had acquired 4.93 million ETH at this price level, indicating significant accumulation at this key level. A sustained break above $3,270 could propel ETH towards $3,500. Conversely, a significant downswing could lead to a retracement to $2,980 before finding support.

Conclusion

Ethereum's recent rally has been driven by a surge in staking activities, reducing market supply and bolstering bullish sentiment. As on-chain indicators continue to flash positive signals, Ethereum is well-positioned to extend its dominance over Bitcoin in the coming week, with its sights set on regaining the $3,500 mark.
