Economist Peter Schiff Mocks Donald Trump Jr.'s Private Gala Dinner Invitation to Top Holders of Official Trump TRUMP/USD Meme Coin by Equating It to Hunter Biden's Corruption Charges
Apr 29, 2025 at 05:49 pm
Economist Peter Schiff took potshots at the private gala dinner invitation to top holders of Official Trump TRUMP/USD meme coin, equating it to corruption charges against Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden.
Economist Peter Schiff took aim at Donald Trump Jr., enlisting the help of a chatbot in an X post on Monday.
What Happened: In a series of posts on X, Schiff, known for his acerbic commentary, began by poking fun at Jr., crediting him with partnering with President Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency donors and key insiders to launch "The Executive Branch."
"Hunter Biden is already being outdone by Donald Trump Jr., who has partnered with his father's mega crypto donors and key insiders to launch 'The Executive Branch.' For a mere $500K, members buy exclusive access to Trump's cabinet, where they can get drinks and tariff exemptions."
"Now, Jr. is taking it a step further by launching a special program for the top 220 TRUMP /USD token holders, inviting them to a private gala dinner with President Trump himself. It seems like Hunter Biden will have to pull up his socks if he wants to compete with the level of malpractice on display here."
Biden was found guilty of federal tax evasion and felony gun charges and received a full and unconditional pardon from his father last year.

Why It Matters: Schiff's jab was most likely directed at the invitation extended to the top 220 holders of TRUMP meme coin for a private gala dinner with POTUS, which has quickly attracted charges of corruption.
While Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) deemed selling access in exchange for payments an impeachable offense and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) requested that the U.S. Office of Government Ethics intervene, the project's team stated that TRUMP is not a political initiative or investment opportunity but an expression of support for Trump's ideals.
Its team also later updated its terms and policies to indicate that Trump may not attend the gala dinner and that the event may be cancelled or rescheduled at their discretion.
However, Schiff himself is a known critic of Trump's pro-cryptocurrency policies, which he previously described as a thinly veiled attempt to pay off donors who supported his political campaign last year.
