Drue Tranquill Trolls Dave Portnoy After His $1 Million Super Bowl Bet Loss

Apr 20, 2025 at 08:18 pm

Tranquill took a break from celebrating the Chiefs' win against the Bills to dunk on Barstool Sports owner Portnoy, who has been having a meltdown online over the outcome of the Sunday night game.

Drue Tranquill Trolls Dave Portnoy After His $1 Million Super Bowl Bet Loss

Kansas City Chiefs player Drue Tranquill took a jab at Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy for losing a $1 million Super Bowl bet on the Buffalo Bills.

On Sunday night, the Bills suffered a 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the NFL’s premier game.

This setback also put an end to Portnoy’s hopes of making a huge profit from his risky $1 million bet on the Super Bowl at +550 odds.

For his part, Tranquill was in a celebratory mood after the Chiefs secured a fourth consecutive win against the Bills, extending their dominance over Buffalo in recent years.

As part of the festivities, he took aim at Portnoy, who has been having a meltdown online over the outcome of the Sunday night game.

In fact, Portnoy has made several social media posts criticizing the Chiefs and implying that the team had colluded with the referee to tip the game in their favor during a crucial moment.

In one post on X, Portnoy questioned, “Again, how the hell is the ref staring at Josh Allen's back the one who overrules the ref staring at the ball and who had the right spot? #BillsMafia #nflrigged.”

To this, Tranquill responded by jabbing at Portnoy’s $1 million bet, writing, “Should have taken your $1M from #TrumpCoin and taken a nice vacation. He didn't get it & you know it. #GoChiefs.”

Portnoy, a Patriots fan, had revealed last week that he scored over 200 percent on his Trump Coin, which he sold for a “quick milly.”

According to the New York Post, he used that money to place a bet on the Bills to win the Super Bowl at +550 odds.

This bet would have paid out massively if the Bills had pulled off an upset against the Chiefs.

However, unfortunately for Portnoy, the Bills fell short in their pursuit of a Super Bowl title.

In addition to Tranquill, several others took aim at Portnoy's claims that the NFL is “rigged” in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs.

One person wrote on X, "Not indisputable evidence. You're a patriots fan literally simping for the bills. Have some self-respect."

Another noted, "If the NFL is rigged for the Chiefs and Dave Portnoy knows that……then why did he bet on Buffalo???"

A third person said, "Whine some more. Always have excuses, but I think it is time to accept the fact the Chiefs are better. Games are not decided by one play or call. Maybe if this was not the fourth time in a row Chiefs beat Bills in the playoffs, I would feel bad for y'all."

Those who supported Portnoy believed that the game was rigged for the Kansas City Chiefs.

One individual said, "I wonder how much he made that night," implying that the referee took a bribe.

Portnoy is known for placing high-stakes wagers on high-profile games. He previously lost a $500,000 bet on the University of Georgia to win the College Football Playoff National Championship in January.
