The global cryptocurrency market capitalisation rose to US$3.4 trillion, up 1.10% over the past 24 hours, buoyed by moderate gains in Bitcoin (BTC) and select altcoins.
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization rose to US$3.4 trillion, showing a slight increase of 1.10% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap’s data on Monday. The slight uptick was driven by moderate gains in Bitcoin (BTC) and select altcoins.
Market trading volume during the same period reached US$105.92 billion. BTC retained its dominant share of 63.3% in the market cap rankings, followed by Ethereum (ETH) with a 9% share.
Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, edged up 0.72% to trade at US$108,586.46 by 00:14 ET (04:14 GMT). The token’s market capitalization stood at a hefty US$2.16 trillion, bolstered by sustained investor confidence and high daily turnover of US$48.5 billion.
Ethereum also registered modest gains, climbing 0.43% to US$2,541.95. Its market cap amounted to US$306.88 billion.
CoinMarketCap’s sentiment index placed the market in “Greed” territory with a reading of 68, suggesting bullish investor sentiment across major digital assets.
Analysts noted that the altcoin market displayed a mixed pattern. Ripple (XRP) outperformed the majors, with its token surging 2.35% to US$2.28. Binance Coin (BNB) also advanced 0.27% to reach US$672.75. Tether (USDT), the largest stablecoin, remained stable at US$1.00.
Despite the overall market growth, the altcoin season indicators remained subdued, registering 25 out of 100, indicating that altcoins are still lagging behind Bitcoin in relative performance.
Community-driven tokens such as NATIX and MERL were among the top trending coins, with NATIX gaining 1.06% to US$0.001525 and MERL rising 3.39% to US$0.1189. Meanwhile, Uniswap (UNI) saw gains of 3.48%, pushing the token to trade at US$6.37.
On decentralised exchanges, the B/USD1 pair topped the volume charts with a 2.60% gain to US$0.4074, while meme token BTRUMP/SOL experienced a staggering surge of 495%, reflecting speculative flows.
