The move comes as part of the government’s initiative to celebrate the spiritual leader's legacy.

The coinage rules, notified by the Ministry of Finance, grant the Central Government the power to coin and issue commemorative coins in accordance with Section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011.
The coin will be composed of 70 percent copper, 25 percent zinc and 5 percent nickel. It will be shaped like a regular hexagon and weigh 18 grams.
The coin’s obverse side will feature the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the centre, with the legend 'Satyamev Jayate' inscribed below and the word “Bharat” in Devnagri script on the left periphery. The right periphery will feature the word “INDIA” in English. The Rupee symbol and denominational value “100” in international numerals will be present below the Lion Capital.
The coin’s reverse face will feature the image of 'BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA' in the centre. The year ‘1926’ in international numerals will be inscribed on the left side of the image, and the year ‘2026’ will be inscribed on the right side.
The upper periphery of the coin will feature the inscription "Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba ki Janma Shatabdi" in Devnagari script, and the inscription 'BIRTH CENTENARY OF BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA' in English will be inscribed on the bottom periphery of the coin.
