Blast, a new Ethereum-based blockchain network, is getting ready to give away free tokens to its users and developers on June 26.

Blast Token Airdrop Coming Next Week
Blast, a new Ethereum-based blockchain network, is getting ready to give away free tokens to its users and developers on June 26. To be eligible, users must sign into their Blast account using their personal crypto wallet at least once. Developers must distribute all their “Blast Gold” and “Blast Points” to users by June 25. The network will split tokens evenly between users and developers. Users will get tokens based on how much money they have in their Blast account and how active they’ve been on Blast-based apps. Blast originally planned the airdrop for May but delayed it, increasing users’ token allocations in the process.
Crypto News: BitFlyer to Buy FTX’s Japanese Branch
BitFlyer, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, is planning to buy FTX Japan. It was a part of the FTX trading platform that went bankrupt in 2022. The deal will likely cost BitFlyer billions of yen (tens of millions of dollars). After the purchase, FTX Japan might focus on managing and storing cryptocurrency for big investors. FTX Japan planned to return money to its customers earlier this year, even though its parent company went bankrupt. This purchase could help BitFlyer expand its business in Japan.
India Fines Binance for Breaking Money Laundering Rules
India has fined the cryptocurrency exchange Binance $2.25 million for operating in the country without following anti-money laundering rules. Binance was supposed to keep records of transactions and have strong measures to prevent money laundering. India’s Financial Intelligence Unit found that Binance wasn’t doing this for its Indian customers. In January, India had banned Binance and other foreign crypto exchanges for operating illegally. Authorities have since approved Binance to operate in India, but only after agreeing to pay this fine.
Crypto News: Kenya Clears Worldcoin of Wrongdoing
Worldcoin, a project that combines cryptocurrency with digital identity, is no longer under investigation in Kenya. The project, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, had been suspended in Kenya in 2023. Kenya’s criminal investigation department has dropped its probe into Worldcoin. After investigating concerns about how Worldcoin collected and used personal data, they found no evidence of wrongdoing. Officials advised Worldcoin to register and license its operations in Kenya properly and to check any local partners it works with carefully.
Kraken and CertiK Dispute Over Exploited Funds
There’s a disagreement between the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken and the security firm CertiK about some missing funds. CertiK says it found a flaw in Kraken’s system and spent about $3 million to prove its existence, intending to return the money. This is called a “white hat” operation, where hackers find and report security issues to help companies fix them. Kraken, however, asserts that CertiK didn’t return the full amount. CertiK claims it gave back all the funds it took. The situation has caused debate in the crypto community. Some question why CertiK sent the funds through a service that mixes cryptocurrency transactions, making them harder to trace. Both companies are still trying to resolve the situation and clear up the confusion about the missing funds.
