Bitcoin Surge Anticipated After Halving Event, Analyst Predicts
Apr 16, 2024 at 01:55 pm
With the Bitcoin halving just days away, analyst Eric Krown Crypto predicts the price will rise post-event, as it has in the past. He suggests the lowest price point will likely occur around the halving, with $71,400 being a key level to watch. Bitcoin remains in a corrective phase, and a retreat to the low $60,000s or upper $50,000s could present a buying opportunity. However, a breach below $59,000 could indicate a market cycle shift, potentially leading to a decline toward the low $50,000s.

Bitcoin Price Poised for Post-Halving Surge, Analyst Predicts
With the highly anticipated Bitcoin halving event just days away, cryptocurrency analyst Eric Krown Crypto has provided his insights into the potential price trajectory of Bitcoin ahead of the significant milestone.
Historical Halving Patterns Suggest Post-Event Price Rise
Krown meticulously analyzed past Bitcoin halving events in 2012, 2016, and 2020. He observed a consistent pattern: Bitcoin's price has exhibited a strong tendency to rise following these events, never reverting to pre-halving levels.
Based on this historical precedence, Krown postulates that the lowest price point for Bitcoin during the upcoming halving is likely to occur around the time of the event or shortly afterward.
Technical Analysis Reveals Key Resistance and Support Levels
On the daily chart, Krown identifies a crucial resistance level at $71,400, which has been exerting downward pressure on Bitcoin's price while trading below this threshold. Conversely, a decisive move above $68,400 could signal a shift in market sentiment toward bullishness.
Similar downward momentum is evident on the two-day and five-day charts, with key resistance levels at $71,900 and $73,800, respectively.
Corrective Phase Presents Potential Buying Opportunities
Krown notes that Bitcoin remains in a corrective phase despite a recent brief bounce. Should the price retreat to the low $60,000s or upper $50,000s, it could present another opportune moment for investors to accumulate.
However, a breach below $59,000 could indicate a potential shift in the market cycle, potentially leading to a decline toward the low $50,000s, around $53,000 per Bitcoin.
External Factors: Bitcoin ETFs in China
Krown also addressed the potential impact of external factors, such as the introduction of Bitcoin ETFs in China, cautioning viewers about the uncertain nature surrounding such developments.
Bullish Outlook with Potential Short-Lived Market Cycle
"Bitcoin is below the median as of right now," Krown states. "If it remains bullish and the halving produces the low, or around the low, we would expect it to pop back up and close above the median again this week, at $68,400."
In such a scenario, Krown believes the market is poised for an upward trajectory. However, he predicts that this market cycle will be relatively short-lived, potentially concluding by 2024.
