Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Breaks 8-Year Downtrend as BTC Bull Token Promises 10x Gains

Bitcoin Cash is among the top gainers today with a whopping 10% uptick, while Bitcoin-themed meme coin BTC Bull Token has rocketed past the $5.4 million raised mark in its token presale.

Bitcoin is trading at its highest price in eight weeks as the cryptocurrency stabilizes in the market.

What Happened: Bitcoin is trading at $99K, up 2.5% in the past 24 hours and 4.3% for the week. It’s the highest price BTC has traded at since early February.

The Federal Reserve Open Market Committee voted to keep interest rates unchanged in the United States on Wednesday.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell said in his press conference that the small rise in the unemployment figures and persistent inflation mean that rates are not likely to be lowered.

“We are sensitive to the potential downstream impact on labor market activity and inflation of a complete and undue response to any one post-meeting data point, and we are prepared to adjust our monetary policy to respond to changing economic and financial conditions to promote the maximum level of employment and to stabilize prices at two percent over the long term,” Powell said.

Chinese officials have also said they’re open to negotiating a trade deal with the United States, easing concerns about a potential trade war.

Trump also announced on his social media site, Truth Social, that a “major trade deal” will be announced at 10 AM on Thursday.

Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a smooth ride, and we have a long way to go, but it will be an incredible journey. Products and services will be pouring into our country, and jobs, jobs, jobs!” Trump said.

Many investors had hoped for a rate cut to boost liquidity in risk markets. However, it appears that the current stabilizing conditions—both from a funding and trade perspective—are also well received.
