Binance Surges 15%, Renzo Dips 13% Amid Resurging Interest in Ethereum Staking
Aug 29, 2024 at 11:17 pm

Investors are showing renewed interest in large-scale Ethereum staking, and Binance has seen a significant increase in its staked ETH tokens over the past month.
Of the top 5 Ethereum staking protocols, Binance has seen the greatest surge over the last 30 days, while a few protocols have remained stagnant and others have recorded shortages.
Binance Surges 15%, Renzo Dips 13%
The Ethereum staking landscape has continued to grow and buzz with activity from investors and validators, with over 400,000 additional tokens locked on the Ethereum blockchain in the last month. In total, there are now 34,237,178 staked ETH tokens, which amounts to 27.92% of the total ETH supply as of August 29.
However, data from Dune shows that Binance has further cemented its dominance in the Ethereum staking landscape, reporting an impressive 15% surge in its Ethereum staking volume over the last month.
Binance’s ability to buck the trend witnessed by other protocols may be attributed to increased staking activities on the platform, suggesting that investors have been more confident about utilizing the platform’s security to stake their assets.
In contrast, Renzo has performed worse than Binance in the last month, as it has fallen the most among the top 10 Ethereum staking protocols. Specifically, the total number of staked ETH tokens on the Renzo protocol declined by 13% over the last month.
Lido Maintains Lead Despite Poor Performance
Despite Lido maintaining its long-standing dominance in the Ethereum staking landscape, accounting for about 28% of all staked ETH, the protocol has not seen any growth in its staked ETH volume over the last month.
This suggests that the ETH staked on Lido has remained the same as one month ago. Notably, the recent move by Jump Trading, a major market maker that transferred 17,049 Ether (ETH) from Lido earlier this month, has seen the protocol’s share of staked ETH decrease
