Coinbase is launching a Bitcoin Yield Fund (CBYF) that aims to provide a 4-8% net return in BTC per year, over a market cycle, with investors subscribing and redeeming in the asset. The fund, which is designed for institutional investors, will also be backed by several prominent investors.

Coinbase Asset Management, part of Coinbase, is introducing a new Bitcoin yield fund and third-party custody integrations for trading, aiming to lower expected investment and operational risks, aligning with institutional investor risk appetite.

The fund received major financial backing from several high-profile investors, including Aspen Digital, an FSRA-regulated digital asset manager based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, which recently closed a $150 million digital asset fund.

CBYF will officially launch on May 1, 2025.
