How to Check Binance Futures Maintenance Margin Ratio Step by Step?

To monitor margin health on Binance Futures, check the real-time “MMR” (Maintenance Margin Ratio) in the Positions tab—values <100% are safe; ≥100% signals liquidation risk.

Jul 27, 2026 at 12:20 pm

Accessing the Futures Dashboard

1. Log in to your Binance account using verified credentials and two-factor authentication.

2. Navigate to the “Derivatives” section from the top navigation bar.

3. Select “USDⓈ-M Futures” or “COIN-M Futures” depending on your position type.

4. Click on the “Positions” tab located at the center of the dashboard interface.

5. Ensure your active futures positions are visible with real-time margin data displayed alongside each contract.

Locating Margin Ratio Display

1. In the Positions table, locate the column labeled “MMR” — this stands for Maintenance Margin Ratio.

2. Each open position shows a dynamically updated percentage value reflecting current MMR.

3. The system calculates this ratio as Maintenance Margin / Wallet Balance 100% for isolated margin mode or Maintenance Margin / Cross Wallet Balance 100% for cross margin mode.

4. Values below 100% indicate healthy margin status; values equal to or above 100% trigger liquidation warnings.

5. Hover over the MMR cell to view tooltip details including maintenance margin amount, wallet balance, and estimated liquidation price.

Using Binance Mobile Application

1. Open the official Binance app and authenticate with biometric or PIN verification.

2. Tap the “Trade” icon at the bottom navigation bar, then select “Futures”.

3. Switch to “Positions” using the horizontal tab bar just below the header.

4. Scroll horizontally to reveal columns including “Liq. Price”, “Margin”, and “MMR”.

5. Tap any position row to expand detailed metrics — the MMR appears prominently under “Risk Rate”.

Interpreting Real-Time Margin Alerts

1. When MMR reaches 95%, a yellow warning triangle appears next to the position.

2. At exactly 100%, the indicator turns red and displays “Liquidation Risk” in bold text.

3. A flashing red border surrounds the position row when MMR exceeds 100% by more than 0.5 percentage points.

4. Notifications appear in the app’s notification center and email inbox if enabled in “Settings > Notifications > Futures Liquidation Alerts”.

5. The “Add Margin” button becomes highlighted in orange once MMR drops below 90%, allowing immediate top-up via wallet transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the Maintenance Margin Ratio update instantly during market volatility?Yes. Binance recalculates MMR every 200 milliseconds based on real-time mark price, position size, leverage, and wallet balance.

Q: Can I view historical MMR values for closed positions? No. Binance does not store or display historical MMR data for positions that have been fully closed or liquidated.

Q: Is MMR calculated separately for each symbol or aggregated across all futures positions? It is calculated per-position. Cross margin mode aggregates wallet balance but maintains individual MMR per contract.

Q: What happens if my MMR hits 100% but price reverses before liquidation executes?Liquidation is triggered only when the mark price crosses the liquidation price threshold — not solely based on MMR reaching 100%.
