How to Send Bitcoin on Venmo to Another Wallet

Venmo, a popular mobile payment service from PayPal, initially supported crypto trading in 2021. However, Venmo currently does not allow users to send Bitcoin (BTC) to external wallets such as those on hardware wallets, software wallets, or crypto exchanges.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to send Bitcoin on Venmo:

  1. Open the Venmo app on your smartphone.
  2. Ensure you have Bitcoin in your Venmo wallet. If you don't have any Bitcoin, you can buy it within the Venmo app by clicking on the 'Buy Crypto' option.
  3. Select the 'Transactions' tab. This can be found at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap on the 'Pay or Request' button.
  5. Choose the 'Bitcoin' option. This is located under the 'Crypto' section.
  6. Enter the amount of Bitcoin you want to send.
  7. Enter the name, phone number, or email address of the person you want to send the Bitcoin to. Only Venmo users who have Bitcoin in their wallets can receive Bitcoin through Venmo.
  8. Tap on the 'Next' button.
  9. Review the transaction details and tap on the 'Send' button to complete the transaction.
Additional Information:
  • The recipient of the Bitcoin must have a Venmo account and have opted into receiving crypto payments.
  • Venmo may charge a fee for sending or receiving Bitcoin.
  • Sending Bitcoin on Venmo is irreversible. Therefore, ensure you send the correct amount to the intended recipient.
  • Venmo stores Bitcoin on its platform, not in individual user's personal wallets.

Note: Venmo does not allow users to transfer Bitcoin to other wallets or crypto exchanges at this time.
