How to receive Avalanche (AVAX) in Trust Wallet
Trust Wallet supports AVAX via the C-Chain; ensure it's enabled and always verify the sender uses the C-Chain to avoid fund loss. (154 characters)

Understanding Avalanche (AVAX) and Trust Wallet Compatibility
Trust Wallet is a widely used mobile cryptocurrency wallet that supports multiple blockchain networks, including the Avalanche (AVAX) blockchain. The Avalanche C-Chain is Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible, which allows Trust Wallet to interact with AVAX tokens seamlessly. Before receiving AVAX, ensure that your Trust Wallet app is updated to the latest version, as outdated versions may not support newer tokens or networks. Trust Wallet natively supports AVAX as a primary asset, meaning you don’t need to manually add it in most cases. However, if AVAX does not appear automatically, you can add it manually using its contract address or by enabling the Avalanche network.
Setting Up the Avalanche Network in Trust Wallet
To receive AVAX, your Trust Wallet must be configured to recognize the Avalanche C-Chain (Contract Chain). By default, Trust Wallet may only display major networks like Ethereum or Binance Smart Chain. To enable the Avalanche network:
- Open Trust Wallet and tap on the "Settings" icon (gear symbol) in the top-right corner
- Select "Wallet", then tap "Manage Wallets"
- Scroll down and locate "Avalanche" in the list of available networks
- Toggle the switch next to Avalanche to enable it
- Once enabled, return to the main screen where you’ll now see AVAX listed among your assets
If Avalanche does not appear in the list, ensure your app is updated via the App Store or Google Play. Some regional restrictions or older versions may exclude certain blockchains.
Locating Your AVAX Receive Address
After enabling the Avalanche network, the next step is to find your personal receiving address. This address is a unique string of characters used by senders to transfer AVAX to your wallet. To access it:
- On the Trust Wallet home screen, tap on "Avalanche" under your list of assets
- Tap the "Receive" button located at the bottom center of the screen
- A popup will display your Avalanche (AVAX) receiving address, shown both as text and as a QR code
- You can copy the address by tapping the copy icon or share it directly via messaging apps
This address always starts with "0x" because the Avalanche C-Chain uses Ethereum-style addresses. It is safe to share this address publicly when receiving funds. Never share your recovery phrase or private keys.
Verifying the Correct Network Before Receiving Funds
One of the most critical steps when receiving AVAX is ensuring the sender uses the correct blockchain network. AVAX exists on multiple chains, including the Exchange Chain (X-Chain), Platform Chain (P-Chain), and Contract Chain (C-Chain). Trust Wallet only supports the C-Chain, which is EVM-compatible. If someone sends AVAX via the X-Chain or P-Chain, it will not appear in your Trust Wallet and could be lost permanently.
To prevent this:
- Instruct the sender to choose "Avalanche C-Chain" or "Avalanche (AVAX)" when sending from exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken
- Confirm that the transaction is sent using the C-Chain network, not X-Chain
- Double-check the network option before confirming any withdrawal on an exchange
- If the sender is using a wallet like MetaMask, ensure it’s connected to the Avalanche C-Chain RPC
Receiving AVAX on the wrong chain is irreversible without advanced recovery tools, so network accuracy is essential.
Completing the Receipt of AVAX and Confirming the Transaction
Once the sender initiates the transfer, the AVAX will begin its journey to your Trust Wallet. Transactions on the Avalanche C-Chain typically confirm within seconds due to the network’s high speed. To monitor the status:
- Stay on the Avalanche asset page in Trust Wallet
- Wait for the transaction to appear in your transaction history
- Tap on the transaction to view details such as hash ID, gas fee, and confirmation status
- Use a blockchain explorer like snowtrace.io by pasting your address to view real-time updates
If the funds do not appear after 10 minutes:
- Ensure you’re on the correct network (Avalanche C-Chain)
- Refresh the wallet by pulling down on the asset list
- Check if the transaction failed due to insufficient gas or incorrect address
- Verify the sender’s transaction hash on snowtrace.io
In rare cases, Trust Wallet may not immediately sync. Force-closing and reopening the app often resolves display delays.
Adding AVAX Manually (If Not Automatically Detected)
In some instances, AVAX may not appear even after enabling the Avalanche network. This can occur if the token was delisted temporarily or if the wallet doesn’t auto-detect it. To add AVAX manually:
- Tap the "+" icon on the main screen to access "Add Custom Token"
- Select "Smart Chain" as the network, then choose "Token" tab
- Enter the following details:
- Token Contract Address: 0xB31f66AA3C1e785363F0875A1B74E27b85FD66c7
- Token Symbol: AVAX
- Decimals: 18
- Tap "Next", then "Add Token"
This contract address corresponds to the Avalanche C-Chain wrapped AVAX, which is fully compatible with Trust Wallet. After adding, your balance will display once a transaction is received.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I receive AVAX from Binance to Trust Wallet?
Yes, you can receive AVAX from Binance to Trust Wallet. When withdrawing from Binance, select "Avalanche (AVAX)" as the network. Choose C-Chain, not X-Chain. Paste your Trust Wallet AVAX address and confirm. Binance will display the network and estimated arrival time before processing.
What happens if I receive AVAX on the X-Chain instead of C-Chain?
If AVAX is sent via the X-Chain, it will not appear in Trust Wallet because Trust Wallet only supports the C-Chain. The funds remain on the X-Chain and require a wallet like the official Avalanche Wallet (wallet.avax.network) to access. Recovery involves importing your private key or recovery phrase into a compatible wallet.
Is there a minimum amount of AVAX I can receive?
There is no minimum amount enforced by Trust Wallet. You can receive any fraction of AVAX, such as 0.001 AVAX. However, the sender must pay a small gas fee (in AVAX) to process the transaction, which may influence how small a transfer they are willing to make.
Do I need to pay a fee to receive AVAX in Trust Wallet?
No, you do not pay any fee to receive AVAX. The sender covers the network gas fee required to process the transaction on the Avalanche C-Chain. Your role is passive—simply provide the correct address and wait for confirmation.
