To connect your Ledger Nano X to Sui Wallet: update firmware, install the Sui app, enable Blind Signing, visit wallet.sui.io, and approve prompts on-device—no keys ever leave the hardware.

Connecting Ledger Nano X to Sui Wallet
1. Ensure the Ledger Nano X firmware is updated to version 2.0.0 or higher using Ledger Live.
2. Install the Sui app on the device via Ledger Live—search for “Sui” in the app catalog and click “Install.”
3. Open the Sui app on the Ledger Nano X by navigating to the app list and selecting it—wait for the “Ready” screen.
4. Enable “Blind Signing” in the Sui app settings if prompted; this allows transaction signing without exposing full data on-device.
5. Launch the official Sui wallet interface at https://wallet.sui.io using Chrome or Edge with MetaMask extension disabled.
Setting Up Hardware Wallet Integration
1. On the Sui wallet homepage, click “Connect Wallet” and select “Ledger.”
2. Confirm the connection request on the Ledger Nano X screen by pressing both side buttons simultaneously.
3. The wallet will display a public address derived from the Ledger’s Sui app—verify the first and last four characters match what appears on the device.
4. Once verified, click “Connect” in the browser to finalize the link between the hardware device and the web interface.
5. A green checkmark and the label “Hardware Wallet Connected” will appear next to the selected account.
Signing Transactions Securely
1. Initiate any action requiring a signature—such as sending SUI tokens or interacting with a dApp—through the Sui wallet UI.
2. When the confirmation modal appears, click “Sign with Ledger.”
3. The Ledger Nano X will display the transaction details including recipient address, amount, and gas fee—scroll using side buttons to review all fields.
4. Press both buttons to approve only after confirming every detail matches your intent.
5. The signed transaction is broadcast automatically; no private keys ever leave the device.
Managing Multiple Accounts
1. Within the Sui wallet, click the account dropdown and select “Add Account.”
2. Choose “Ledger” and follow prompts to derive a new address using BIP-44 path m/44'/784'/0'/0'.
3. Each newly added account corresponds to a unique derivation path and appears as a separate entry in the wallet interface.
4. Switch between accounts by clicking the account name—each retains independent balance and transaction history.
5. All accounts remain secured under the same Ledger seed phrase and require physical confirmation for every operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use Ledger Nano X with Sui Testnet?A: Yes—the same setup process applies to both Mainnet and Testnet. Ensure the Sui wallet interface is set to the correct network before connecting.
Q: Why does my Ledger show “Processing…” indefinitely during signing?A: This usually occurs when Blind Signing is disabled or the Sui app version is outdated. Reinstall the latest Sui app and verify Blind Signing is enabled in its settings.
Q: Is it safe to connect Ledger Nano X to third-party Sui dApps?A: Only if the dApp explicitly supports Ledger integration through the official Sui wallet connector and uses the canonical Sui JSON-RPC endpoints. Never enter seed phrases or approve unknown contract calls.
Q: What happens if I lose my Ledger Nano X but still have my recovery phrase?A: You can restore full access to all Sui accounts by setting up a new Ledger device and reinstalling the Sui app—then inputting the original 24-word recovery phrase.
