How to use Coinbase Wallet on the Arbitrum network?
Set up Coinbase Wallet for Arbitrum by selecting the network or manually adding RPC details, then bridge ETH via arbitrum.io to start using dApps with lower fees.

Setting Up Coinbase Wallet for Arbitrum Network
1. Download the Coinbase Wallet app from the official website or your device’s app store. Ensure you are using the standalone Coinbase Wallet application, not the main Coinbase exchange app.
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one by securely storing your recovery phrase. This step is critical for asset protection and future access.
- Once the wallet is set up, tap on the network selector located at the top of the home screen. By default, it shows Ethereum Mainnet.
- Scroll through the list of available networks and select “Arbitrum One” to switch to the Arbitrum network. If Arbitrum does not appear, proceed to manually add it.
- To manually configure Arbitrum, go to Settings > Networks > Add Network. Enter the required RPC details: Network Name – Arbitrum One; New RPC URL – https://arb1.arbitrum.io/rpc; Chain ID – 42161; Currency Symbol – ETH; Block Explorer URL – https://arbiscan.io.
Transferring Assets to Arbitrum via Coinbase Wallet
1. After connecting to Arbitrum, ensure you have sufficient ETH in your wallet to cover gas fees on the Arbitrum network. You can bridge ETH from Ethereum Mainnet using official bridges like the Arbitrum Bridge.
- Open the Coinbase Wallet browser feature and navigate to https://bridge.arbitrum.io, the official Arbitrum bridge.
- Connect your Coinbase Wallet to the bridge interface and approve the connection when prompted.
- Select the amount of ETH or ERC-20 tokens you wish to transfer and initiate the deposit. Confirm the transaction on the Ethereum network.
- Wait for the message confirmation period, which typically takes about 7 days if withdrawing back to Ethereum, but deposits to Arbitrum finalize within minutes.
Using dApps on Arbitrum with Coinbase Wallet
1. Launch the built-in decentralized browser in Coinbase Wallet and visit popular Arbitrum-based platforms such as GMX, Camelot, or Radiant.
- When interacting with a dApp, click “Connect Wallet” and choose Coinbase Wallet from the options. Approve the connection request carefully.
- Once connected, you can participate in yield farming, swap tokens using decentralized exchanges like Uniswap (Arbitrum version), or provide liquidity.
- Always verify contract addresses and domain names to avoid phishing sites attempting to steal wallet credentials.
- Transactions initiated on dApps will prompt a confirmation screen inside Coinbase Wallet. Review gas costs and recipient addresses before approval.
Managing Tokens and Security on Arbitrum
1. To view Arbitrum-based tokens, make sure the correct network is selected. Some tokens may not automatically appear after bridging.
- Manually add tokens by tapping “Add Token” and entering the correct contract address found on Arbiscan.
- Enable biometric authentication within Coinbase Wallet settings to add an extra layer of access control.
- Never share your recovery phrase or sign arbitrary messages. Malicious actors may exploit signed messages to drain funds.
- Regularly audit your active connections (dApp approvals) and revoke access to unused services through token approval checkers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I confirm my wallet is on the Arbitrum network?Check the network indicator at the top of the Coinbase Wallet dashboard. It should display “Arbitrum One.” You can also verify by viewing your transaction history—interactions with Arbitrum contracts indicate correct network usage.
Can I use the same address on Ethereum and Arbitrum?Yes. Your public wallet address remains identical across both networks. However, they represent separate balances. Sending assets directly between them without a bridge will result in permanent loss.
Why are my bridged tokens not showing up?Tokens may require manual addition. Use the “Add Token” function and input the correct Arbitrum-compatible contract address. Also ensure the bridge transaction has fully completed and was successful on Arbiscan.
Is gas cheaper on Arbitrum when using Coinbase Wallet?Yes. Arbitrum uses optimistic rollup technology to bundle transactions, significantly reducing gas costs compared to Ethereum Mainnet. Most transactions cost only a few cents in ETH.
