How to check Coinbase transaction history? (Reports)
To export Coinbase transaction history, go to Reports > Transaction History, filter as needed, and click Export (CSV recommended for tax or spreadsheet use).
Mar 31, 2026 at 02:00 am
Accessing Your Coinbase Account
1. Navigate to the official Coinbase website or open the Coinbase mobile application.
- Enter your registered email address and password to log in.
- If two-factor authentication is enabled, approve the login request via your authenticator app or SMS.
- Once authenticated, you land on the dashboard displaying your portfolio balance and recent activity.
Locating the Reports Section
1. Click on the Reports tab located in the main navigation menu—this may appear under the More dropdown on mobile.
- The Reports page presents options for generating transaction history, tax documents, and exportable CSV files.
- Select Transaction History to view all on-chain and internal movements tied to your account.
- By default, the report covers the last 30 days; adjust date ranges using the calendar picker to retrieve older entries.
- You can filter by asset type, transaction category (e.g., buy, sell, send, receive, convert), or status (completed, pending, failed).
Exporting Transaction Data
1. After configuring filters and date range, click the Export button.
- Choose between CSV or PDF format—CSV is recommended for spreadsheet analysis or tax software import.
- Coinbase initiates a background process to compile data; large histories may take up to several minutes.
- Once ready, the download link appears at the top of the screen with a timestamped filename like coinbase-transaction-history-2024-04-15.csv.
- Downloaded files include columns such as Date, Asset, Type, Amount, Spot Price at Time, USD Value, Fees, and Transaction ID.
Understanding Transaction Details
1. Each row represents a discrete event: deposits, withdrawals, trades, staking rewards, or Airdrop receipts.
- Internal transfers between Coinbase wallets do not appear on-chain but are logged as internal transfer with no network fee.
- On-chain sends display the destination address, confirmation count, and blockchain explorer link.
- Failed transactions show Failed status and often include an error code such as INSUFFICIENT_BALANCE or INVALID_ADDRESS.
- For recurring buys or scheduled conversions, entries reflect the execution time—not the schedule setup time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I view transaction history for a specific wallet address only?A: No. Coinbase does not expose per-address history outside the unified account view. All activity is aggregated under your user identity, not individual wallet addresses.
Q: Why do some transactions show “USD Balance” instead of a cryptocurrency symbol?A: These represent fiat ledger entries—such as bank deposits, wire transfers, or USD payouts—and are denominated in USD by design.
Q: Are staking rewards included in the standard transaction history export?A: Yes. Staking distributions appear as Receive entries with the associated asset and timestamp matching the reward distribution block.
Q: Does the export include fees paid to external blockchains like Ethereum or Solana?A: Yes. Network fees for outbound crypto transfers are itemized separately in the Fees column and listed in the native gas token (e.g., ETH or SOL).
