How to Set a Bitget Futures Take-Profit Order Before Opening a Leveraged Position?
To set a take-profit on Bitget Futures, enable it in Advanced Settings, specify price & execution type, and confirm—multiple tiers (up to 5) are supported.
Oct 05, 2026 at 07:19 am
Accessing the Futures Trading Interface
1. Log in to your Bitget account via the official web platform or mobile application.
2. Navigate to the Derivatives section from the main menu and select USDT-Margined Futures or Coin-Margined Futures, depending on your preferred settlement asset.
3. Choose a specific trading pair such as BTC/USDT or ETH/USDT from the available list displayed at the top of the trading interface.
4. Confirm that your account has completed identity verification and passed the mandatory risk assessment required for futures access.
5. Ensure sufficient margin balance is available in the corresponding wallet—either USDT or the base coin—to support both initial position size and predefined order conditions.
Configuring Leverage and Order Parameters
1. Locate the Leverage selector on the right side of the order entry panel and choose an appropriate multiplier based on your strategy and risk tolerance.
2. Input the desired contract quantity in the Amount field, using units consistent with the selected pair (e.g., 1 contract = 0.001 BTC for BTC/USDT).
3. Select either Market or Limit order type before proceeding to conditional settings.
4. Verify the estimated margin requirement, liquidation price, and taker/maker fee rates shown in the preview window prior to enabling take-profit functionality.
5. Click the Advanced Settings toggle to expose conditional order controls including take-profit, stop-loss, and trailing stop options.
Setting Take-Profit Conditions Before Execution
1. Within the advanced settings panel, locate the Take-Profit section and activate the switch labeled Enable Take-Profit.
2. Enter the target exit price in the designated input box; this value must be higher than the current market price for long positions and lower for short positions.
3. Specify the execution type: choose between Market (immediate fill at best available price) or Limit (execution only at or better than specified price).
4. Define the quantity to be closed upon trigger—this may be set to full position size or a partial amount, expressed as a percentage or fixed number of contracts.
5. Review the real-time impact of the take-profit level on effective profit margin and adjust accordingly to align with volatility expectations and historical price action around that zone.
Order Submission and Confirmation Workflow
1. After completing all fields, click the Buy Long or Sell Short button to initiate submission.
2. A confirmation modal appears showing final details: entry price, leverage, margin used, take-profit price, and estimated return if triggered.
3. Confirm by clicking Confirm Order; the system validates balance, position limits, and exchange-side constraints before broadcasting.
4. Upon successful placement, the open position appears under Active Positions, while the associated take-profit instruction registers separately in the Conditional Orders tab.
5. Monitor status updates in real time through the position card, where current PnL, liquidation price, and pending take-profit activation status are continuously refreshed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I modify the take-profit price after placing a leveraged futures order?A: Yes. Users may edit or cancel an active take-profit order directly from the Conditional Orders tab without affecting the underlying position.
Q: Does Bitget apply funding fees to positions with pending take-profit orders?A: Yes. Funding fees accrue independently of conditional order status and are settled every eight hours based on prevailing funding rate and open interest.
Q: Is it possible to set multiple take-profit levels for a single position?A: Yes. Bitget supports multi-tier take-profit configurations, allowing users to define up to five distinct price targets with individual quantities and execution types.
Q: What happens if the market gaps past my take-profit price?A: For market-type take-profit orders, execution occurs at the first available price post-gap, which may differ significantly from the set level due to slippage during high-volatility events.
