How to use the built-in browser on Trust Wallet (Android & iOS)?
Trust Wallet’s built-in DApp browser lets you securely access, navigate, and interact with decentralized apps—just tap the compass icon, verify networks, and never share your seed phrase.
Jan 29, 2026 at 12:19 am
Accessing the Built-in Browser
1. Open the Trust Wallet application on your Android or iOS device.
2. Tap the DApp Browser icon located at the bottom navigation bar. On older versions, this may appear as a compass or globe icon.
3. Ensure your wallet is unlocked and connected to the correct network—Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, or another supported chain—before proceeding.
4. The browser loads with a default homepage showing featured decentralized applications and recent visits.
5. Type any DApp URL directly into the address bar at the top, or select from the list of verified dApps displayed on the homepage.
Navigating Web3 Sites Securely
1. When visiting a site, Trust Wallet displays a connection request prompting you to approve or deny access to your wallet address and balance information.
2. Never share your seed phrase or private key—even if a site claims it’s required for “verification” or “recovery.”
3. Look for the green shield icon next to the URL to confirm the page is loaded over HTTPS and not a spoofed version.
4. Avoid clicking links sent via DMs or emails that redirect to unfamiliar domains claiming to be official token claim pages.
5. Close unused tabs regularly using the tab manager icon (two overlapping squares) to reduce exposure surface.
Managing Network Settings Within the Browser
1. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner while inside the browser.
2. Select Networks to view all chains currently enabled for DApp interaction.
3. Toggle on or off specific networks like Ethereum Mainnet, Arbitrum One, or Base depending on which protocols you intend to use.
4. Custom RPC endpoints can be added manually by selecting “Add Network” and entering chain ID, RPC URL, symbol, and block explorer link.
5. Switching networks triggers an automatic reload of the current DApp page to align with the selected chain’s state.
Interacting With Smart Contracts
1. When a DApp initiates a transaction—such as swapping tokens or approving a spender—the Trust Wallet interface overlays a confirmation screen.
2. Review gas fee estimates, recipient address, and function call details before tapping “Confirm.”
3. Some contracts require multiple steps: first approval, then execution. Each step generates its own signature request.
4. Transaction history appears under the Activity tab after completion, including status, block number, and timestamp.
5. Failed transactions still consume gas; verify contract compatibility and sufficient native token balance before initiating.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I bookmark DApp pages in the Trust Wallet browser?A: Yes. While viewing a DApp, tap the three-dot menu and select “Add to Favorites.” Bookmarked sites appear on the homepage under the “Favorites” section.
Q: Why does a DApp show “Wallet Not Connected” even after granting permission?A: This usually occurs when the DApp expects a different network than the one currently active. Check the network toggle in the browser menu and ensure alignment with the DApp’s required chain.
Q: Is it safe to enter my wallet password inside the built-in browser?A: No. Trust Wallet never asks for your password inside the browser. Any prompt requesting credentials is malicious—close the tab immediately.
Q: Does the browser support MetaMask Snaps or third-party wallet extensions?A: No. The Trust Wallet browser operates as a standalone Web3 gateway without extension support. All interactions rely solely on Trust Wallet’s embedded signing engine.
