How to Add Subsocial Mainnet (SUB) to MetaMask

Step 1: Install MetaMask

Begin by installing MetaMask, a popular non-custodial Ethereum wallet, onto your browser or mobile device. This will serve as the foundation for accessing and managing your SUB tokens.

Step 2: Add Subsocial Mainnet Network

To add the Subsocial Mainnet network to MetaMask, navigate to "Settings" within the wallet interface. Select "Networks" and click "Add Network."

Input the following details for the Subsocial Mainnet:

  • Network Name: Subsocial Mainnet
  • RPC URL: https://rpc.subsocial.network
  • Chain ID: 9540
  • Symbol: SUB
  • Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.subsocial.network

Step 3: Import SUB Token

Once the Subsocial Mainnet is added, import the SUB token to your MetaMask wallet to view and manage your balance. Click on "Add Token" within the "Assets" tab in MetaMask.

Select "Custom Token" and enter the details of the SUB token contract:

  • Token Contract Address: 0x7bcb7857595ce9041496d2fbef7de00936f59ccb

Network details should automatically populate if Subsocial Mainnet is set as the active network in MetaMask. Select "Add Custom Token" to complete the token import.

Step 4: Access Subsocial Mainnet Funds

With SUB tokens added to MetaMask, you can access Subsocial Mainnet funds that you control. Send and receive SUB transactions with other MetaMask users or integrate with Subsocial dApps by seamlessly connecting your MetaMask wallet.

Troubleshooting: Network Not Showing in MetaMask

If the Subsocial Mainnet network fails to display in MetaMask after setup, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check Network Settings: Verify that you have correctly entered the network details as mentioned in Step 2, including the RPC URL, Chain ID, and Symbol.
  2. Ensure MetaMask Compatibility: Subsocial Mainnet is compatible with MetaMask versions 8 and above. Confirm that you are running the latest version of the wallet.
  3. Clear MetaMask Cache: Close all MetaMask windows and tabs. Then, hold (Ctrl/Command) + (Shift) + (R) to reload the MetaMask extension with cache cleared.
  4. Reset Subsocial Mainnet: If other troubleshooting steps fail, remove the Subsocial Mainnet network from MetaMask. Follow the steps in Step 2 to re-add the network, ensuring accuracy in the details.
