How to add the Optimism network to Trust Wallet? (L2 Support)
To add Optimism to Trust Wallet: go to Settings → Networks → Ethereum → + Add Network, then enter name “Optimism”, RPC “https://mainnet.optimism.io”, Chain ID 10, symbol ETH, and explorer URL.
Feb 17, 2026 at 05:39 am
Adding Optimism Network Manually
1. Open Trust Wallet and tap the wallet icon in the bottom right corner.
- Scroll down and select Settings from the menu.
- Tap Networks, then choose Ethereum as the base network.
- Tap the + Add Network button at the top right.
- Enter the following details manually: - Network Name: Optimism - RPC URL: https://mainnet.optimism.io - Chain ID: 10 - Symbol: ETH - Block Explorer URL: https://optimistic.etherscan.io
Verifying Optimism Integration
1. After saving the network, return to the main wallet screen.
- Tap the network selector next to your wallet address — it should now list Optimism alongside Ethereum and other networks.
- Switch to Optimism and check if your ETH balance appears under that network.
- Confirm transaction history by tapping the Activity tab while Optimism is selected.
- Send a small test transaction to verify confirmation speed and gas fee display.
Token Visibility on Optimism
1. Trust Wallet does not auto-detect all Optimism-native tokens upon network addition.
- To view a specific token like OP, USDC, or SNX on Optimism, tap the + Add Token button.
- Select Custom Token and input the correct contract address for the Optimism version of that token.
- For example, the Optimism USDC contract is 0x7F5c764cBc14f9669B88837ca1490cCa17c31607.
- Once added, the token balance will appear only when the Optimism network is active.
Gas Fee Behavior on Optimism
1. Optimism uses ETH for gas payments, but fees are significantly lower than Ethereum Mainnet.
- Trust Wallet displays estimated gas cost in ETH before confirming any transaction on Optimism.
- The wallet automatically selects appropriate gas price based on current network conditions.
- Users cannot manually adjust gas limits or prices in Trust Wallet for Optimism transactions.
- Failed transactions due to insufficient gas are rare but possible if the RPC endpoint experiences latency.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
1. If Optimism does not appear after manual setup, restart Trust Wallet completely.
- A blank balance may indicate incorrect RPC URL — double-check for typos in https://mainnet.optimism.io.
- Missing token balances often stem from using Ethereum Mainnet contract addresses instead of Optimism-specific ones.
- Transaction confirmations may take longer than expected during periods of high sequencer load.
- Ensure your Trust Wallet app is updated to the latest version to maintain full Optimism L2 compatibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I receive ETH directly to my Optimism address from an exchange?A: Yes, many exchanges support direct withdrawals to Optimism addresses. Verify with your exchange whether they list Optimism (OP) as a withdrawal option and confirm the network tag matches.
Q: Why does my Optimism ETH balance differ from my Ethereum Mainnet ETH balance?A: Optimism ETH is bridged from Ethereum Mainnet. Balances only match after completing a two-way bridge process. Deposits require waiting for finality; withdrawals involve a seven-day challenge period.
Q: Does Trust Wallet support staking or yield farming on Optimism?A: Trust Wallet itself does not offer staking or yield features. It serves as a non-custodial interface. You must interact with decentralized applications like Velodrome or Aerodrome via the built-in DApp browser.
Q: Is the Optimism network available on Trust Wallet for iOS and Android equally?A: Yes, both platforms support Optimism network configuration identically. No feature disparity exists between iOS and Android versions regarding L2 network access.
