How to add the Mina Protocol mainnet to MetaMask.
By adding the Mina Protocol mainnet to your MetaMask wallet, you can seamlessly interact with the Mina ecosystem, managing accounts, sending tokens, and accessing decentralized applications.
Nov 11, 2024 at 09:48 pm
Mina Protocol is a lightweight and scalable blockchain platform that utilizes a unique technology called Recursive zk-SNARKs to achieve consensus. This allows Mina to maintain a compact blockchain, enabling it to remain secure and accessible for all users.
To interact with the Mina Protocol mainnet, you can utilize MetaMask, a popular cryptocurrency wallet and gateway to decentralized applications (dApps). By adding the Mina Protocol mainnet to MetaMask, you can create and manage Mina accounts, send and receive Mina tokens, and access Mina-based dApps.
Prerequisites:- Install the MetaMask browser extension or mobile app.
- Ensure you have a Mina account with a non-zero balance.
- Open MetaMask and Access Settings:
Launch the MetaMask extension or app and click the account icon in the top right corner. Select "Settings".
- Navigate to Networks:
In the "Settings" menu, click the "Networks" tab. This tab displays a list of the currently configured networks in MetaMask.
- Click "Add Network":
At the bottom of the "Networks" page, you will find an "Add Network" button. Click this button to manually configure a new network.
- Enter Network Details:
You will be presented with a form to enter the necessary network details. Fill in the fields as follows:
- Network Name: Mina Protocol
- New RPC URL: https://proxy.mainnet.minaexplorer.com/
- Chain ID: 31190
- Symbol: MINA
- Block Explorer URL: https://minaexplorer.com/
- Save Network Configuration:
Once you have entered all the details, click the "Save" button at the bottom of the form. MetaMask will now add the Mina Protocol mainnet to your list of configured networks.
- Switch to Mina Mainnet:
With the Mina mainnet added, you can now switch to it. Click the network selection dropdown in the top right corner of MetaMask and select "Mina Protocol" from the list.
- Import Mina Account (Optional):
If you already have a Mina account, you can import it into MetaMask. Click the "Import Account" button in the MetaMask interface and follow the prompts to import your private key or seed phrase.
- Interact with Mina dApps:
With your Mina account connected to MetaMask and the Mina mainnet selected, you can now interact with Mina-based dApps. You can access dApps through the dApp browser in MetaMask or by visiting the websites of individual dApps.
