How to Add Litecoin Mainnet (LTC) to MetaMask

Litecoin (LTC) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency that allows for fast, secure, and low-cost transactions. It is similar to Bitcoin but differs in terms of its hashing algorithm, block generation time, and supply. To use Litecoin with MetaMask, you must first add the Litecoin Mainnet to your wallet. This article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to do so:

1. Install MetaMask

• If you haven't already, download and install MetaMask on your browser. MetaMask is a software cryptocurrency wallet that allows you to store, send, and receive various cryptocurrencies, including LTC.

2. Create a MetaMask Wallet

• Open MetaMask and follow the prompts to create a new wallet. Make sure to keep your secret recovery phrase safe and private.

3. Add Litecoin Mainnet

• Once you have created a MetaMask wallet, click on the Networks drop-down menu in the top right corner of the wallet interface.
• Select Add Network.
• In the Network Name field, enter Litecoin Mainnet.
• In the New RPC URL field, enter **https://rpc.litecoincore.org`.
• In the Chain ID field, enter 195.
• In the Currency Symbol field, enter LTC.
• In the Block Explorer URL field, enter **https://explorer.litecoin.info`.
• Click Save.

4. Select Litecoin Mainnet

• Once you have added the Litecoin Mainnet, select it from the Networks drop-down menu. MetaMask will now be connected to the Litecoin blockchain.

5. Add LTC to Your Wallet
