Adding a custom token to MetaMask allows users to access and manage digital assets that are not officially supported by the wallet. Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. Open Coinbase Wallet- Launch the Coinbase Wallet app on your mobile device or visit the web version at https://wallet.coinbase.com/.
- Sign in to your Coinbase Wallet account.
- On the main dashboard, tap the "Add Token" button.
- In the pop-up window, select the "Custom Token" tab.
For Ethereum-based tokens:
- Enter the Token Contract Address (ERC-20 or ERC-777).
- Enter the Token Symbol.
- Specify the Token Decimal Places (usually 18 for most tokens).
- Click "Import Token."
For other types of custom tokens:
- Select the appropriate network from the dropdown menu (e.g., Polygon, BSC).
- Repeat steps as above.
- A confirmation message will appear. Review the token details and tap "Import Token" to add it to your wallet.
- Once the token is added, you will see a success message. The custom token will now be displayed in your Coinbase Wallet balance.
- Ensure you have entered the correct token contract address to avoid adding the wrong token.
- If the token is not immediately visible, refresh your Coinbase Wallet or restart the app.
- Coinbase Wallet supports a limited number of custom tokens. Check the support list before adding any tokens.
- Be cautious of phishing attempts or scams involving adding custom tokens. Always verify the source and ensure the token details are correct.
