How to add a new asset or coin to your Exodus wallet?

To add a supported asset in Exodus, open Settings → Wallets & Assets → Add Asset, search by name/symbol, enable it, and verify syncing on the dashboard—all using your original seed phrase.

Accessing Wallet Settings

1. Open the Exodus desktop or mobile application and ensure you are logged into your wallet.

2. Navigate to the main dashboard where your current assets are displayed.

3. Click or tap the gear icon located in the top-right corner of the interface to enter Settings.

4. Select Wallets & Assets from the Settings menu to manage supported cryptocurrencies.

Searching for the Desired Asset

1. Within the Wallets & Assets section, locate and click the Add Asset button.

2. A search bar appears—type the full name or ticker symbol of the coin or token you wish to add.

3. Exodus displays only assets that are natively supported and have been audited for compatibility with its infrastructure.

4. If the asset appears in the results, select it to proceed; if not, it is currently unavailable in Exodus.

Enabling the Asset on Your Wallet

1. After selecting a valid asset, Exodus prompts you to confirm activation.

2. Tap or click Enable to add the asset to your wallet interface.

3. The wallet automatically generates the appropriate receiving address and transaction history view for that asset.

4. No private keys are altered or regenerated—the new asset shares the same underlying seed phrase as your existing wallets.

Verifying Asset Integration

1. Return to the main dashboard and scroll through your asset list to locate the newly enabled coin or token.

2. Check that the balance field shows zero or reflects any existing holdings synced from the blockchain.

3. Click the asset to open its dedicated page and verify that send, receive, and transaction history functions operate normally.

4. Confirm the network status indicator shows Online and that recent blocks are syncing without error.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I add custom ERC-20 tokens not listed in Exodus?A: No. Exodus only supports pre-vetted tokens that meet strict security and integration standards. Unlisted ERC-20 tokens cannot be manually imported.

Q: Does adding an asset require downloading a new wallet file or backup?A: No. All assets share the same 12-word recovery phrase. No additional backup steps are needed after enabling a new coin.

Q: Why does my newly added asset show “No transactions” even though I’ve received funds?A: This may occur if the blockchain node has not fully synced. Wait several minutes, then pull to refresh or restart the app to trigger a rescan.

Q: Is there a limit to how many assets I can add to Exodus?A: There is no hard cap. However, performance may degrade if hundreds of assets are simultaneously enabled due to increased blockchain data loading.
