How to Add the Arweave Mainnet to MetaMask
MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency wallet that supports multiple blockchains, including the Arweave mainnet. Adding the Arweave mainnet to MetaMask allows you to store and manage AR tokens, interact with decentralized applications (dApps) built on Arweave, and access the growing ecosystem of projects and services within the Arweave network.
Step 1: Install MetaMask
If you haven't already done so, install the MetaMask extension for your preferred web browser.
Step 2: Create a New Wallet or Import an Existing One
If you're creating a new wallet, follow the on-screen instructions to generate a new seed phrase and password. If you're importing an existing wallet, you'll need to enter your seed phrase or private key.
Step 3: Add the Arweave RPC URL
Once you have access to your MetaMask wallet, click on the "Networks" dropdown in the top-right corner. Then, select "Add Network."
In the "Network Name" field, enter "Arweave Mainnet."
In the "RPC URL" field, enter the following address:
https://arweave.net/arweaveIn the "Chain ID" field, enter "607."
In the "Currency Symbol" field, enter "AR."
In the "Block Explorer URL" field, enter the following address:
https://viewblock.io/arweaveStep 4: Import the AR Token Contract Address
Once you have added the Arweave mainnet to MetaMask, you need to import the AR token contract address to be able to view and interact with AR tokens in your wallet.
To import the contract address, click on the "Add Token" button in the "Assets" tab of MetaMask. Then, select "Custom Token."
In the "Token Contract Address" field, enter the following address:
0x998680ba4ef1914941fd12d9f98035f33b2ab99aIn the "Token Symbol" field, enter "AR."
In the "Decimals" field, enter "18."
Click on the "Add Token" button.
Step 5: Verify Your Setup
To verify that you have successfully added the Arweave mainnet to MetaMask, navigate to the "Networks" dropdown and select "Arweave Mainnet." You should now see your AR token balance in the "Assets" tab.
You can also use the MetaMask wallet to interact with dApps built on Arweave. To do so, simply visit the website of the dApp and connect your MetaMask wallet when prompted.
