How to list NFTs for sale on Magic Eden? (Marketplace tutorial)
To list an NFT on Magic Eden: connect a Solana wallet (e.g., Phantom), ensure your NFT is Solana-based with valid metadata, pay 0.00001 SOL fee, and publish via the “List for Sale” option.
Jan 05, 2026 at 11:40 pm
Connecting Your Wallet to Magic Eden
1. Open the Magic Eden website in a compatible browser such as Chrome or Brave.
2. Click the wallet icon located in the top-right corner of the homepage.
3. Select your preferred wallet from the list—Phantom, Backpack, Slope, or Solflare are officially supported.
4. Confirm the connection request inside your wallet extension or mobile app.
5. Once connected, your wallet address and SOL balance will appear in the header, indicating successful integration.
Preparing Your NFT Collection for Listing
1. Ensure the NFT you wish to sell resides in your connected wallet and is minted on the Solana blockchain.
2. Verify that the token standard is either Metaplex-standard (v1 or v2) or compliant with Magic Eden’s current indexing rules.
3. Check that the NFT has a valid metadata URI pointing to hosted JSON containing name, description, image, and attributes.
4. Confirm no collection-level restrictions prevent secondary sales—some creator-minted NFTs disable marketplace transfers.
5. Make sure your wallet holds sufficient SOL to cover the listing fee, currently set at 0.00001 SOL per listing transaction.
Navigating the Listing Interface
1. Go to your profile by clicking the avatar icon next to your wallet address.
2. Select “My Collections” and locate the NFT you intend to list.
3. Click the three-dot menu beside the asset and choose “List for Sale”.
4. Enter the desired sale price in SOL—decimal values up to six places are accepted.
5. Choose between fixed-price listing or auction mode; Magic Eden currently supports only fixed-price listings for most collections.
6. Review all details including royalty settings, which default to the collection’s original creator fee unless manually adjusted.
Confirming and Publishing the Listing
1. After entering pricing and terms, click “List Item” to initiate the on-chain transaction.
2. A wallet confirmation pop-up will appear—review the transaction summary carefully before approving.
3. Wait for blockchain confirmation; this usually takes under 10 seconds on Solana.
4. Upon success, the NFT status changes to “Listed” and appears in the public marketplace under its collection page.
5. You can view active listings under “My Listings” in your profile dashboard and cancel or adjust pricing anytime before a sale occurs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I list an NFT minted on Ethereum via Magic Eden?A: No. Magic Eden’s primary interface supports only Solana-based NFTs. Ethereum NFTs require cross-chain bridges or third-party tools not natively integrated into Magic Eden’s listing flow.
Q: What happens if my NFT fails to appear after listing?A: It may be due to incomplete metadata, unsupported mint authority, or indexing delay. Check the asset’s on-chain data using Solscan.io and confirm the metadata URI resolves correctly.
Q: Is there a limit to how many NFTs I can list simultaneously?A: There is no hard cap imposed by Magic Eden, but each listing consumes a small amount of SOL for the transaction fee and requires individual wallet confirmations.
Q: Do I need to pay royalties every time I list an NFT?A: Royalties are deducted automatically upon sale, not listing. The platform enforces creator-set royalties at the point of purchase, not during listing setup.
