Accessing the Trade History Export Interface
1. Log in to your verified Binance account via www.binance.com.
2. Navigate to the top navigation bar and select Orders → Order History.
3. Ensure you are on the Signed In session with Advanced KYC completed, as tax report features require elevated verification.
4. Click the Export button located at the bottom of the order history table or in the upper-right corner depending on screen size.
5. Confirm that the current tab reflects the correct trading type—Sport, Derivatives, or Leveraged—to avoid mixing data categories.
Selecting Time Range and Transaction Filters
1. Use the Time Range dropdown menu to choose a preset interval such as “Last 30 Days” or click Custom to manually enter start and end dates in YYYY-MM-DD format.
2. Tick checkboxes for specific transaction statuses: Filled, Partially Filled, or Canceled, based on reporting scope requirements.
3. For tax purposes, include all executed trades regardless of profit/loss outcome; therefore, avoid filtering by P&L status.
4. If exporting only for one asset pair, type the symbol (e.g., BTCUSDT) into the search field before initiating export.
5. On derivative pages, ensure Show P&L Details is toggled ON so fields like funding fees, realized P&L, and insurance fund deductions appear in the output.
CSV File Generation and Field Composition
1. Select CSV as the export format—ZIP compression is applied automatically for multi-category exports.
2. The generated file contains timestamped rows with columns including Trade ID, Symbol, Side, Price, Quantity, Quote Quantity, Fee, Fee Asset, Is Isolated, and Order Type.
3. Each row corresponds to a single fill—not an order—so partial fills appear as separate entries with unique trade IDs.
4. Fee values are recorded in the native fee currency (e.g., BNB or USDT), and negative values indicate rebate or discount applications.
5. Verify integrity by checking the header row of the downloaded CSV: missing columns like is_isolated or trade_id may impair reconciliation with external tax software.
Post-Export Validation and Local Processing
1. Open the CSV using Excel or LibreOffice Calc and apply filters to isolate transactions by date, symbol, or fee asset.
2. Sort rows chronologically using the Time column to align with jurisdictional tax year boundaries.
3. Sum the Fee column to compute total platform charges incurred during the selected period.
4. Cross-reference exported data against the Profit & Loss Statistics page under Reports → Profit & Loss to confirm consistency in net realized gains.
5. Retain original ZIP archives unaltered for audit trails; rename files with clear identifiers such as binance-sport-2025Q4-tax.csv.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I export trade history older than 90 days directly from the web interface?A: No. Web-based exports are capped at 90 days per request. To retrieve longer histories, users must combine multiple 90-day batches or use the Binance API with appropriate permissions.
Q: Why does my exported CSV show zero values in the “Fee” column for some trades?A: This occurs when fee discounts were applied via BNB holdings, VIP level rebates, or promotional campaigns—the actual fee was deducted from another asset balance rather than quoted in the trade’s base currency.
Q: Is the “Order ID” included in the exported CSV sufficient for IRS Form 8949 line item identification?A: Not standalone. The IRS requires trade timestamp, acquisition/disposition date, cost basis, proceeds, and gain/loss. Binance’s CSV provides raw inputs but not pre-calculated basis or adjusted proceeds—those must be derived externally.
Q: Do futures funding payments appear in the same CSV as spot trades?A: No. Funding payments are logged separately under Funding History within the Derivatives section and require a distinct export path outside standard order history.
