How to Transfer Crypto from Robinhood to Coinbase
Step 1: Create a Coinbase Account
Visit the Coinbase website or download the app and sign up for a free account. Verify your identity by providing your name, address, and government-issued ID.
Step 2: Get a Crypto Wallet Address
Once your Coinbase account is set up, navigate to "Accounts" > "Crypto Wallets" and select the crypto asset you wish to transfer. Click on "Receive" and generate a wallet address.
Step 3: Initiate the Transfer on Robinhood
Log in to your Robinhood account and navigate to "Accounts" > "Crypto." Select the crypto you want to transfer and click on "Transfer."
Step 4: Enter Transfer Details
In the transfer window, enter the Coinbase wallet address obtained in Step 2 as the recipient. Input the amount you wish to transfer.
Step 5: Verify and Confirm
Review the transfer details carefully, including the address and amount. Click on "Transfer" to initiate the process. Robinhood may require you to confirm the transfer via email or SMS.
Step 6: Wait for Transaction Confirmation
The transfer process can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on network congestion. You can track the progress of the transaction in your Robinhood and Coinbase account histories.
Step 7: Access Your Crypto in Coinbase
Once the transfer is complete, the crypto will appear in your Coinbase wallet. You can now trade, store, or withdraw it as needed.
Note:
- Robinhood does not support transfers of all cryptocurrencies. Only a limited number of popular assets, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, are eligible for transfer.
- There is a minimum transfer limit for each crypto on Robinhood. Refer to the app for details.
- Coinbase may charge a fee for receiving crypto deposits, depending on the network.
- Once crypto is transferred out of Robinhood, it can no longer be traded or accessed through the platform.
