How to Trade ADA Futures on Bitget? Step-by-Step Cardano Futures Tutorial
To trade ADA futures on Bitget, log in, go to Derivatives → USDT-Margined Futures, search “ADAUSDT”, choose order type, set leverage (up to 75x), and confirm buy/sell—real-time PnL, funding every 8h, and USDT-only margin.
Aug 29, 2026 at 06:00 am
Accessing ADA Futures Market
1. Log in to your Bitget account via the official app or web platform using verified credentials.
2. Navigate to the “Trade” section from the bottom navigation bar on mobile or the top menu on desktop.
3. Select “Derivatives” and then choose “USDT-Margined Futures” as the contract type.
4. Use the search bar to locate “ADAUSDT” — this is the standardized perpetual futures pair for Cardano against USDT.
5. Tap or click on the ADAUSDT pair to load the real-time order book, chart interface, and position management panel.
Placing ADA Futures Orders
1. Choose between “Market”, “Limit”, “Stop-Market”, or “Take-Profit/Limit” order types based on execution priority and risk control needs.
2. Input the desired position size in ADA units or USDT value, ensuring it complies with Bitget’s minimum order size of 1 ADA for ADAUSDT contracts.
3. Set leverage level — ADA futures support up to 75x leverage, but users must manually confirm margin mode (cross or isolated) before submission.
4. For long positions, click “Buy” and confirm; for short positions, click “Sell” and confirm after reviewing estimated liquidation price and margin requirements.
5. All orders are routed directly to Bitget’s matching engine with sub-100ms latency, and filled orders appear instantly in the “Positions” tab.
Managing Open ADA Positions
1. View active positions under the “Positions” tab, where each entry displays entry price, PnL, margin ratio, and liquidation price in real time.
2. Adjust leverage or switch margin mode without closing the position — changes apply immediately to existing exposure.
3. Add or reduce position size by placing additional orders in the same direction; Bitget aggregates them into a single net position.
4. Set automatic stop-loss or take-profit triggers using price-based or trailing conditions — these execute on-chain via Bitget’s decentralized oracle feed.
5. Close positions manually at any time by clicking “Close Position”, or allow auto-liquidation if margin ratio falls below 10%.
Funding Rate Mechanics for ADAUSDT
1. Funding occurs every 8 hours at 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 UTC, calculated as the average of the index price and mark price over the preceding 1-hour window.
2. The funding rate cap is ±0.75%, preventing extreme volatility-driven imbalances during high-volume events like network upgrades or protocol announcements.
3. Longs pay shorts when the rate is positive; shorts pay longs when negative — payments are settled in USDT and reflected instantly in wallet balance.
4. Historical funding data is publicly accessible via Bitget’s API endpoint /api/v2/public/funding-rate?symbol=ADAUSDT, updated every minute.
5. Users can monitor cumulative funding impact on PnL through the “Funding History” section within the derivatives dashboard.
Risk Parameters and Margin Requirements
1. Initial margin for ADAUSDT futures starts at 1.33% at 75x leverage, scaling linearly downward as position size increases beyond 50,000 ADA.
2. Maintenance margin is fixed at 0.5% across all leverage tiers, triggering liquidation once equity drops to this threshold.
3. Bitget applies dynamic margin adjustment during flash crashes — if ADA price moves more than 15% within 30 seconds, margin requirements temporarily increase by 2x for new entries.
4. All ADA futures contracts are quoted in USDT, with profit and loss denominated exclusively in USDT regardless of underlying ADA price action.
5. Margin calls are issued only when available margin falls below maintenance level — no partial liquidation or margin top-up prompts are sent.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I hold ADA futures positions over weekends?A: Yes. Bitget’s ADAUSDT perpetual contracts operate continuously without expiry, including weekends and holidays.
Q: Is there a maximum position size limit per user?A: Individual accounts face no hard cap, but positions exceeding 2 million ADA trigger manual risk review and may require additional KYC verification.
Q: Does Bitget support native ADA collateral for ADA futures?A: No. ADAUSDT contracts require USDT as margin currency only — ADA holdings cannot be used as collateral.
Q: What happens if the ADA network experiences downtime during a funding period?A: Funding settlements proceed using off-chain price oracles; chain status does not affect timing or calculation validity.
