Step-by-Step Guide to Closing Your Kraken Account

1. Prepare for Account Closure

Transfer all remaining assets out of your Kraken account to external wallets or exchanges.
Ensure you have no outstanding orders or open positions.
Note that once your account is closed, all trading data and withdrawal history will be deleted.

2. Initiate Account Closure

Log into your Kraken account.
Navigate to the "Settings" page.
Click on the "Security" tab.
Scroll down and click on the "Close Account" button.

3. Confirm Account Closure

Read the account closure confirmation message carefully.
Enter your Kraken password to confirm.
Click on the "Close Account" button.

4. Wait for Review

Kraken will review your account closure request within 24 hours.
If your account balance is over $0, you may be required to provide additional verification.

5. Account Closed

Once your account closure request is approved, your account will be deactivated.
You will receive an email confirming the account closure.
You will no longer be able to access your Kraken account or its data.

Additional Notes:

If you change your mind after initiating account closure, contact Kraken support within 24 hours to cancel the request.
You cannot retrieve any funds or trading data from a closed account.
Kraken may retain certain data for legal or regulatory purposes.
Closing your Kraken account does not affect your Kraken Pro account, if you have one.
