Step-by-Step Guide to Closing Your Kraken Account
1. Prepare for Account Closure- Transfer all remaining assets out of your Kraken account to external wallets or exchanges.
- Ensure you have no outstanding orders or open positions.
- Note that once your account is closed, all trading data and withdrawal history will be deleted.
- Log into your Kraken account.
- Navigate to the "Settings" page.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Scroll down and click on the "Close Account" button.
- Read the account closure confirmation message carefully.
- Enter your Kraken password to confirm.
- Click on the "Close Account" button.
- Kraken will review your account closure request within 24 hours.
- If your account balance is over $0, you may be required to provide additional verification.
- Once your account closure request is approved, your account will be deactivated.
- You will receive an email confirming the account closure.
- You will no longer be able to access your Kraken account or its data.
- If you change your mind after initiating account closure, contact Kraken support within 24 hours to cancel the request.
- You cannot retrieve any funds or trading data from a closed account.
- Kraken may retain certain data for legal or regulatory purposes.
- Closing your Kraken account does not affect your Kraken Pro account, if you have one.
