How to Check the BTC Market Depth on Binance?
Binance的盘口(委托簿)是透视市场真实买卖意愿的“X光机”,实时显示BTC/USDT等交易对的挂单深度、流动性结构与多空力量分布,助你规避盲点决策。

Accessing Market Depth Interface
1. Launch the official Binance mobile application or navigate to www.binance.com using a desktop browser.
2. Log in with your verified credentials and ensure two-factor authentication is active.
3. Select the BTC/USDT trading pair from the markets list or use the search bar at the top.
4. Once on the trading interface, locate the central order book panel—typically positioned on the left side of the chart area.
5. Confirm the displayed depth data reflects real-time bid and ask levels, updated every 100–200 milliseconds.
Interpreting Bid and Ask Columns
1. The left column shows bids: cumulative BTC quantities buyers are willing to purchase at specific USDT prices.
2. The right column displays asks: aggregated BTC amounts sellers intend to offload at defined USDT price points.
3. Each row includes three key values: price level, individual order size, and total volume stacked at that level.
4. Color coding is applied automatically—green for bids, red for asks—to support rapid visual parsing under volatile conditions.
5. Hovering over any row reveals timestamped order insertion details and whether the level contains hidden or iceberg orders.
Using Depth Chart Visualization
1. Click the “Depth Chart” tab adjacent to the standard order book view to activate the graphical representation.
2. The horizontal axis denotes price in USDT, while the vertical axis measures cumulative BTC volume available at or below (bids) and at or above (asks) each price.
3. A pronounced slope near current market price indicates high liquidity concentration; flat regions suggest potential slippage zones.
4. Zoom controls allow focusing on narrow price bands—for instance, ±0.3% around the last traded price—to detect microstructure anomalies.
5. Overlaying the 24-hour price line on the depth chart helps correlate historical volatility spikes with structural thinning in order book density.
Exporting and Analyzing Order Book Snapshots
1. Open the web version of Binance and switch to advanced trading mode to unlock the “Export Depth Data” button.
2. Choose time interval granularity: 1-second, 5-second, or full snapshot export in CSV format.
3. The exported file contains columns for price, bid volume, ask volume, bid count, ask count, and Unix timestamp.
4. Load the CSV into Python using pandas and apply rolling window calculations to measure depth imbalance ratio across 100-price-level windows.
5. Integrate with pbinance’s spot.orderbook() method to fetch live order book states programmatically for backtesting execution algorithms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Does Binance display aggregated depth across all account types including margin and futures?A1: No. The BTC/USDT spot market depth only reflects orders placed in the spot trading engine. Margin and futures order books operate independently and must be accessed separately via their respective trading interfaces.
Q2: Why do some price levels show zero volume even when the depth chart appears continuous?A2: This occurs due to aggressive market orders clearing resting limit orders instantly, leaving transient gaps before new orders refill those levels. It reflects genuine execution dynamics, not data latency.
Q3: Can I filter depth data by order type such as Post-Only or Reduce-Only?A3: Not within the UI. The public order book aggregates all visible limit orders regardless of time-in-force or execution restrictions. Conditional orders like Stop-Limit appear only after triggering and then merge into the standard book.
Q4: Is depth data accessible via WebSocket without API key authentication?A4: Yes. The depth@100ms and depth@1000ms streams require no credentials and deliver raw bid/ask updates directly to unauthenticated clients.
