How to change your email address on KuCoin? (Profile Settings)
To change your KuCoin email, log in, go to Profile Settings > Security, verify identity and 2FA, enter your current password and new email, then confirm the 6-digit code sent to the new address.
Mar 29, 2026 at 03:39 pm
Accessing Your KuCoin Account Profile
1. Log in to your KuCoin account using your current credentials—either via the official website or the mobile application.
2. Once authenticated, locate and click the user icon positioned in the top-right corner of the interface.
3. From the dropdown menu, select Profile Settings to enter the personal information management section.
4. The left-hand navigation panel displays several categories—choose Security to proceed with email-related modifications.
Verifying Identity Before Email Modification
1. KuCoin mandates identity verification prior to altering primary contact details—this includes completing KYC Level 1 at minimum.
2. If your account lacks verified status, you will be prompted to upload government-issued ID and complete facial recognition.
3. Two-factor authentication must be active; disabling Google Authenticator or SMS verification blocks access to sensitive changes.
4. A recent login from a recognized device is required—unusual IP locations may trigger additional security challenges.
Initiating the Email Change Process
1. Within the Security tab, find the field labeled Email Address and click the Edit button adjacent to it.
2. Enter your current password to confirm ownership—this step is non-bypassable and enforced server-side.
3. Input the new email address twice: once in the “New Email” field and again in the “Confirm New Email” field to prevent typographical errors.
4. Click Send Verification Code—the system dispatches a six-digit numeric token exclusively to the new email inbox.
Completing Verification and Finalizing Update
1. Navigate to the inbox of the newly entered email address and retrieve the KuCoin verification email—check spam or promotions folders if not visible immediately.
2. Copy the six-digit code and paste it into the designated input field on the KuCoin verification page.
3. Press Confirm—the platform validates the code’s authenticity and expiration window (valid for 10 minutes).
4. Upon success, a green notification appears stating Email updated successfully, and all future system notifications will route to the new address.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I change my email if my account is locked? No. Locked accounts—whether due to suspicious activity, failed login attempts, or compliance holds—cannot initiate email updates until resolution through KuCoin Support.
Q2: What happens to my old email after the change? The previous email is immediately disassociated from the account and no longer receives any system alerts, withdrawal confirmations, or security notifications.
Q3: Is there a cooldown period between successive email changes? Yes. KuCoin enforces a 72-hour waiting period after each successful email update before allowing another modification request.
Q4: Does changing my email affect my API keys or trading permissions? No. API key configurations, margin settings, futures access, and withdrawal whitelists remain fully intact and operational post-email update.
