How to Use Bybit Copy Trading? (Follow Master Traders)
Bybit’s Copy Trading lets users auto-replicate top traders’ live positions with real-time mirroring, risk-adjusted filtering, 10% performance fees, and negative-balance protection—no post-trade edits allowed.

Understanding Bybit Copy Trading Mechanics
1. Bybit Copy Trading allows users to automatically replicate the live trades of experienced traders known as Masters.
2. Each Master displays real-time performance metrics including profit/loss ratio, win rate, and maximum drawdown.
3. Users allocate a specific amount of capital to follow a Master, and every trade executed by that Master is proportionally mirrored in the follower’s account.
4. Leverage settings are inherited from the Master’s original order unless manually adjusted before copying begins.
5. Trades are copied in real time with minimal latency, typically under 500 milliseconds, depending on network conditions and order complexity.
Setting Up a Copy Trading Account
1. A verified Bybit account is mandatory—KYC Level 2 is required to access Copy Trading features.
2. Users must deposit funds into their Unified Trading Account before initiating any copy strategy.
3. Navigate to the “Copy Trading” tab located in the Bybit web interface or mobile app’s main menu.
4. Filter Masters by asset class (e.g., BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT), risk score, or historical return thresholds.
5. Select a Master, review their open positions, closed trade history, and risk-adjusted metrics before confirming allocation.
Managing Active Copy Positions
1. Followers can pause copying at any time without closing existing positions, preserving current exposure.
2. Stop-loss and take-profit levels applied by Masters are replicated exactly, unless overridden during setup.
3. New orders placed by the Master trigger immediate duplication; partial closures or scaling out are also mirrored.
4. Real-time PnL updates appear in the follower’s dashboard, reflecting both realized and unrealized gains or losses.
5. Users may adjust allocated capital upward or downward, triggering proportional rebalancing across all open copied positions.
Risk Controls and Limitations
1. Bybit enforces a minimum allocation of 10 USDT per Master, with no upper limit except individual account equity constraints.
2. Followers cannot modify order size or direction post-execution—only the Master retains control over trade logic.
3. If a Master deactivates their profile or exceeds platform-defined risk thresholds, automatic copying halts immediately.
4. Negative balance protection applies: followers cannot lose more than their allocated capital, even if the Master incurs margin calls.
5. Fees include a 10% performance fee deducted from net profits generated by copied trades, charged only upon successful withdrawal or settlement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I copy multiple Masters simultaneously?A: Yes. Users may allocate separate capital amounts to different Masters, and each stream operates independently within the same Unified Account.
Q: Are copied trades subject to Bybit’s funding rate mechanism?A: Yes. All copied perpetual contracts inherit the same funding rate schedule as native Bybit perpetuals, applied hourly based on index price deviation.
Q: What happens if my allocated balance falls below the minimum due to losses?A: Copying continues until the allocated balance reaches zero. No margin call is issued solely for the copied portion—it remains isolated from other trading activities.
Q: Do I receive notifications when a Master opens or closes a position?A: Yes. Push and email alerts are configurable for every new copied trade, modification, or closure, provided notification permissions are enabled in account settings.
