How to bridge assets from Bitget to Layer 2 networks? (Arbitrum/Optimism)
Bitget不提供原生跨链桥,用户需先提币至MetaMask等自托管钱包,再通过官方Arbitrum/Optimism桥完成L1-L2转移,全程需手动验链ID、备足ETH Gas,且跨链操作不可逆。(155字)

Asset Bridging Fundamentals
1. Bitget does not operate a native bridge for direct L1-to-L2 transfers. Users must rely on third-party bridges integrated with Ethereum-compatible wallets like MetaMask.
2. All bridging actions originate from an Ethereum mainnet wallet holding ETH or ERC-20 tokens—not directly from Bitget exchange accounts.
3. Before initiating any bridge, users must withdraw assets from Bitget to a self-custodied wallet and ensure sufficient ETH is held for gas fees on Ethereum mainnet.
4. Arbitrum One and Optimism use distinct fraud-proof mechanisms, resulting in different withdrawal timeframes and confirmation requirements.
5. Cross-chain asset movement carries irreversible risk if network selection or destination address is misconfigured during deposit or withdrawal steps.
Arbitrum Bridge Workflow
1. Withdraw ETH or USDT (ERC-20) from Bitget to your MetaMask wallet connected to Ethereum mainnet.
2. Visit bridge.arbitrum.io and click “Add/switch to Arbitrum Network” to auto-configure the RPC settings.
3. Confirm that MetaMask is set to Ethereum mainnet, select desired token, enter amount, and click “Deposit”.
4. Approve the transaction in MetaMask; wait 10 minutes to 1 hour for assets to appear under Arbitrum One network in your wallet.
5. To retrieve funds back to Ethereum mainnet, initiate “Withdraw” on the bridge interface—then wait at least 7 days before claiming final settlement.
Optimism Bridge Execution
1. Ensure ETH balance exists in your Ethereum mainnet wallet for both gas and bridging fees.
2. Navigate to app.optimism.io/bridge and connect your MetaMask wallet.
3. Select token (e.g., ETH or USDT), specify amount, and confirm deposit transaction on Ethereum mainnet.
4. Assets typically arrive on Optimism within 5–15 minutes after block confirmation on Ethereum.
5. Initiate withdrawal only when connected to Optimism network; expect a minimum 7-day challenge window before claiming on Ethereum mainnet.
Network Selection Safety Protocol
1. Never send tokens via a network unsupported by the receiving wallet or dApp—TRC-20 USDT cannot land on Arbitrum.
2. Always verify chain ID: Arbitrum uses 42161, Optimism uses 10; mismatched IDs cause permanent loss.
3. Confirm block explorer URL matches official domains: arbiscan.io and optimistic.etherscan.io.
4. Use only verified bridge interfaces—avoid links from unsolicited DMs or unofficial Telegram channels.
5. Perform a test transfer of minimal value before committing larger amounts to new addresses or unfamiliar protocols.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I bridge directly from Bitget Wallet without withdrawing to MetaMask?Bitget Wallet supports multi-chain interactions but does not embed native Arbitrum or Optimism bridges. You must export private keys or use wallet-connect to interact with external bridges.
Q2: Why does my USDT show zero balance after switching to Arbitrum in MetaMask?USDT on Arbitrum requires manual token addition using its official contract address. The token will not auto-populate unless imported via arbiscan.io or the bridge interface.
Q3: Is it possible to bridge from Arbitrum to Optimism without returning to Ethereum first? No native cross-L2 bridge exists between Arbitrum and Optimism. All transfers require routing through Ethereum mainnet as an intermediary layer.
Q4: Does Bitget offer any fee reimbursement for failed bridge transactions?Bitget does not reimburse gas or bridging fees incurred outside its platform. Failed transactions due to user error or network congestion fall outside exchange liability scope.
