What is the issuance volume of Holo coins?
The Holo Fuel (HOT) token serves as the essential fuel powering the Holochain ecosystem and incentivizes node operators for hosting applications and maintaining network stability.
Nov 25, 2024 at 09:32 pm
Holochain is a distributed network that employs a unique data integrity mechanism called "hash chaining." Unlike traditional blockchains, which store data on a global ledger, Holochain distributes data among individual nodes, enhancing security and privacy. Holochain aims to provide a scalable and efficient platform for decentralized applications (DApps).
2. The Holo Fuel TokenThe essential fuel driving the Holochain ecosystem is the Holo Fuel (HOT) token. HOT is used to power applications on the Holochain network and incentivize participants for contributing to its operation. Node operators earn rewards in HOT by hosting applications and ensuring network stability.
3. Issuance of Holo CoinsThe total supply of Holo coins is 177,619,394,830 HOT. Out of this, 150,932,653,470 HOT were issued during the initial coin offering (ICO) in April 2018. The remaining 26,686,741,360 HOT are allocated for future development and community initiatives.
4. Distribution of Holo CoinsThe distribution of Holo coins is as follows:
- ICO Sale (65.2%): 115,595,761,792 HOT
- Seed Sale (15%): 26,651,609,943 HOT
- Private Sale (5.3%): 9,492,576,555 HOT
- Team Allocation (6%): 10,651,461,375 HOT
- Future Development and Community (15%): 26,686,741,360 HOT
The issuance of Holo coins serves several purposes:
- Network Participation: HOT incentivizes node operators to host applications and maintain network integrity, ensuring a decentralized and reliable system.
- User Transactions: HOT is used as a medium of exchange for purchasing and running DApps on the Holochain network.
- Governance: HOT holders may participate in network governance by voting on development proposals and allocating funds for community projects.
Unlike traditional cryptocurrencies, Holo coins do not experience inflation through ongoing issuance. The total supply is fixed and will remain so, except in the unlikely event of a hard fork. This ensures the stability and scarcity of the HOT token.
7. Acquiring Holo CoinsHolo coins can be purchased on various cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance, Coinbase, and Bitfinex. Alternatively, HOT can be earned through network participation by hosting applications on Holochain or joining a HoloPort pool.
8. Future of Holo CoinsThe future value of Holo coins is influenced by factors such as the adoption of Holochain technology, the demand for DApps on the network, and the overall crypto market conditions. Holo's team continues to develop the Holochain platform and expand its ecosystem, which may positively impact the demand for HOT in the long run.
