How to set up a XDEFI wallet? (Multi-chain DEX)
XDEFI Wallet is a non-custodial browser extension supporting Ethereum, Solana, and 7+ EVM chains—private keys stay encrypted locally, never on servers.
Mar 06, 2026 at 02:39 pm
Installation and Browser Extension Setup
1. Navigate to the official XDEFI Wallet website and download the browser extension compatible with Chrome, Brave, Edge, or Firefox.
2. Confirm the authenticity of the extension by verifying the publisher name “XDEFI Wallet” and checking for the verified badge in the browser’s web store.
3. Click “Add to [Browser Name]” and wait for the installation to complete—no restart is required in most cases.
4. Once installed, click the XDEFI icon in the browser toolbar to launch the wallet interface.
Creating a New Wallet Instance
1. Select “Create Wallet” on the welcome screen and agree to the terms and conditions.
2. Choose a strong, unique password—this is used locally to encrypt your private keys and cannot be recovered if lost.
3. Write down the 12-word recovery phrase in the exact order displayed—store it offline and never share it with anyone.
4. Confirm the seed phrase by selecting words in correct sequence from a randomized list to verify retention.
5. After confirmation, the wallet initializes and displays your default Ethereum address.
Adding and Managing Multiple Chains
1. Open the network selector located at the top-left corner of the XDEFI interface.
2. Toggle on support for chains including BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche C-Chain, Arbitrum One, Optimism, Base, and Solana.
3. Each enabled chain generates its own address derived from the same seed phrase—no separate backups are needed.
4. Switch between chains using the dropdown menu; balances update automatically when tokens are detected on-chain.
5. Manually add custom RPC endpoints for testnets or emerging EVM-compatible networks via the “Add Network” option.
Connecting to Decentralized Exchanges
1. Visit a supported DEX such as Uniswap, PancakeSwap, or Raydium directly in your browser.
2. Click “Connect Wallet” and select XDEFI from the wallet list—no QR scanning or mobile pairing is required.
3. Approve the connection request within the XDEFI popup window, confirming the domain and requested permissions.
4. Once connected, trade across multiple chains without switching wallets—XDEFI auto-detects the active network context.
5. Sign transactions using the built-in approval dialog, which displays gas estimates, token approvals, and contract interaction details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I import an existing MetaMask wallet into XDEFI?Yes. During setup, choose “Import Wallet”, enter your 12-word seed phrase, and set a new password. Your addresses and balances will appear immediately across all supported chains.
Q: Does XDEFI support hardware wallet integration?Yes. Ledger devices are natively supported for Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and Optimism. Connect your Ledger, enable the relevant app, and select “Connect Hardware Wallet” in XDEFI.
Q: Why does my Solana balance show zero even after depositing tokens?Solana requires manual token account creation for non-native SPL tokens. Use the “Add Token” function in XDEFI, paste the correct mint address, and confirm the token metadata before balance sync occurs.
Q: Is my wallet data stored on XDEFI servers? No. XDEFI operates as a non-custodial browser extension—private keys remain encrypted and stored only on your local device. The team has no access to your seed phrase, passwords, or transaction signing capability.
