How to use Bybit Copy Trading to automate your profits? (Step-by-Step)
Bybit’s Copy Trading lets users auto-replicate top traders’ live positions in real time—requiring Level 2 KYC, 50 USDT minimum, 2FA, and Unified Margin—while capping allocation per leader at 30% and banning U.S./China users.
Apr 26, 2026 at 01:40 am
Understanding Bybit Copy Trading Mechanics
1. Copy Trading on Bybit allows users to automatically replicate the live positions of experienced traders known as 'Leaders'.
2. Every copied trade mirrors the Leader’s entry price, size, leverage, and exit conditions in real time.
3. The system operates exclusively on Bybit’s Unified Margin Account, requiring users to hold sufficient USDT or BTC as margin.
4. Leaders are ranked by performance metrics including profit factor, drawdown, win rate, and consistency over 30/90/180 days.
5. Followers cannot modify individual copied orders—execution is fully automated once subscription is confirmed.
Eligibility and Account Preparation
1. Users must complete Level 2 KYC verification to access Copy Trading features.
2. A minimum balance of 50 USDT is required in the Unified Margin Account before initiating any copy session.
3. Google Authenticator 2FA must be activated—accounts without active 2FA are blocked from subscribing to Leaders.
4. Bybit prohibits copying trades while holding open positions in Spot or Derivatives outside the Unified Margin structure.
5. Users residing in restricted jurisdictions—including the United States, Canada, Singapore, and mainland China—are excluded from Copy Trading participation.
Leader Selection and Risk Parameters
1. The Leaderboard filters candidates by verified PnL, number of followers, and average position duration.
2. Each Leader displays a real-time risk score calculated from maximum historical drawdown and volatility of returns.
3. Users set a fixed allocation percentage per Leader—no single Leader may absorb more than 30% of total allocated capital.
4. Stop-loss and take-profit levels are inherited directly from the Leader; manual overrides are disabled.
5. Subscription fees are deducted daily at 00:00 UTC based on net asset value—no upfront charges apply.
Execution and Monitoring Workflow
1. Upon confirming subscription, the system initiates synchronization within 90 seconds—no manual confirmation needed for each trade.
2. All copied entries appear under “My Copied Trades” with timestamps matching the Leader’s original execution.
3. Real-time PnL updates reflect both unrealized gains and funding fees accrued on perpetual contracts.
4. Users receive push notifications for every new position opened or closed by their subscribed Leaders.
5. The dashboard shows side-by-side comparison of follower equity curve versus Leader equity curve across all active subscriptions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I copy multiple Leaders simultaneously?Yes. You may subscribe to up to five Leaders at once, provided total allocation remains within your account’s available margin and adheres to the 30% cap per Leader.
Q2: What happens if a Leader closes their account or gets delisted? All active copied positions are automatically closed at market price, and remaining margin is returned to your Unified Margin Account without delay.
Q3: Are copied trades subject to Bybit’s standard funding rates?Yes. Funding fees apply identically to copied perpetual positions as they do for manually placed orders—calculated hourly and settled in USDT or BTC depending on the base asset.
Q4: Does Bybit charge performance fees on profits generated through Copy Trading? No. Bybit does not levy performance-based commissions. Only the daily subscription fee—calculated as a percentage of assets under management—is applied.
