Cheyenne, WY - A bill that would allow certain individuals to carry concealed handguns in the Wyoming State Capitol and other state buildings is on its way to the Legislature.

Representative Chuck Gray (R-Casper) is the sponsor of House Bill 156, which would amend state law to allow concealed carry permit holders to bring their weapons into the Capitol and other state buildings, with certain exceptions.

"The people of Wyoming have a right to protect themselves, and that right should not be infringed upon when they visit their state Capitol or other state buildings," Gray said in a statement. "This bill simply ensures that law-abiding citizens can exercise their Second Amendment rights in these public spaces."

Gray's bill has drawn both support and opposition.
