预约领取护照日期的在线系统目前正在运行

内阁发言人维吉塔·赫拉特部长表示，预约领取护照日期的在线系统目前已于昨天（05）午夜开始运行。

The online system to reserve a date for obtaining passports commenced operation effective from midnight yesterday (05), Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Vijitha Herath announced.

However, the minister pointed out that an agreement made by the previous government with the passport supplier stipulated that the total amount of passports required could not be imported at once.

不过，部长指出，上届政府与护照供应商达成的协议规定，所需护照总量不能一次性进口。

“Due to this agreement, we are unable to import the total amount of passports needed (750,000) at once. Accordingly, passports are being delivered in batches - 50,000 in October, 100,000 by the end of November, and another 100,000 by the end of December,” Herath explained.

“由于这项协议，我们无法一次性进口所需的全部护照（75万本）。因此，护照将分批交付——10 月交付 50,000 份，11 月底交付 100,000 份，12 月底交付 100,000 份。”Herath 解释道。

He further stated that the relevant arrangement had been pre-agreed, and no provision was made for bringing in the total required quantity of passports at once. The minister also acknowledged the difficulty caused for the public as a result and emphasized the government had been working to resolve the issue.

他又表示，有关安排已预先商定，并无规定一次性带入所需总数的护照。该部长还承认这给公众带来了困难，并强调政府一直在努力解决这个问题。

“I am happy to say that since midnight yesterday, many people have applied for passports under the category of urgent basis. Many people have applied online in the past few hours, and now there is no queue for the passports,” Herath said.

“我很高兴地说，从昨天午夜开始，很多人都在紧急类别下申请护照。过去几个小时里，很多人都在网上申请，现在已经不用排队领取护照了。”赫拉特说。

“Now, the passports for the month of November have been fixed in advance, which means that they will be issued through the department in the same way as the token was obtained. For those who make new applications, the online system will be available from today to make an appointment. Now we have provided solutions to that situation,” he added.

“现在，11月份的护照已经提前确定，这意味着它们将通过该部门以与获得令牌相同的方式签发。对于新申请的人，从今天起可以使用在线系统进行预约。现在我们已经针对这种情况提供了解决方案，”他补充道。
